I feel that watching what happened is at least acknowledging, they should never be forgotten ,or what happened to all that died that day.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

Watch, don't watch. It doesn't matter to me how people remember. The fact of the matter is that they DO remember, one way or another.

I got a notice from the History Channel that they will have a special beginning on 9/10 and continuing on 9/11.

As another poster said........we all grieve in our own way.  I live alone and I won't be able to handle that, so I won't watch.  Of course, it's not because I don't care, it is just too upsetting for this old heart...............

I agree. Every 09/11 I watch 09/11 stuff on TV.  I feel that it is a way of paying my respects to the hero survivors and those gone.  My tears and anger still overwhelm me. I don't want that to go away.

Oh dear.

A more productive way to pay respects is by using that day as a day of service in whatever way one is able. This is much more healthy than sitting in/reliving trauma. Just my thoughts.

A little more thought and respect might be due here. It's really not anyone's business to judge how someone should commemorate or grieve, or remember tragedy. It's a very personal thing, something each person does (or does not) do in their own way.

It is absolutely not necessary or productive for everyone to handle the day in the way you mention. It is though, imperative that they handle it in a way that works for them, lets them release their emotion about the event, and makes them feel better.

One person's approach to 'healthy' is not what is best or productive for everyone. Let people remember/grieve in the way that works for them.

I am sure everyone remembers where they were when they learned of this tragedy. My dd was working  at AAirlines and we got updates and info long before it was on the news....it seemed to just make it sadder. We must never forget those who we lost that day.

I share many of the feelings expressed here.

Also, I think that given current events, it’s also good to think back on what The response was.

I had seen the film before, but this was an updated version that I hadn't seen before.  It included updates on many of those shown in the film.  The young kid that was the "Probie" that the film makers were following for his 1st 9 mos. is now a NYFD lieutenant & is married with kids.

I watch some of the programming, and always hope the ending will be different.

There are LOTS of You Tube videos online of the various network news shows in progress as it happened....the looks of comprehension on the anchors faces as they realize what is happening, especially after the second plane hits, is heartwrenching.

Because now we know how it ends.

I DVR'd "The Lost Calls of 9/11". Took years of technology to be able to transfer these into many calls made to this company right across the street from the Towers.

Any show I know about 9/11, I DVR and save all of them on my 2tb external hard drive.
