This is the first I've heard of them closing the forums.  Did they give a reason why?

I will not go on Facebook either.

I don't understand why all of a sudden, and especially after the recent news about Facebook, that they would close these forums.

Perhaps with our honest opinions, they are losing sales?   I would think with people talking about their products, it's only a benefit to them.

I'm sick of things closing down and products all over changing... nothing stays the same anymore, you can't really count on anything.

Many, so many of you have been so kind and helpful on these boards.  Will miss coming here.

I know next to nothing about marketing, except what works for me. Watching QVC doesn't work for me. Few times I would watch it was because I was interested in products. I remember the days when host would give details of a product. That was worth watching. Then things changed and I realized I was needing more and more to look online for information because it wasn't discussed on TV.

So I started reading the forum to read comments from fellow shoppers. I started to realize which posters were drawn to the same things I was interested in. Their likes and dislikes. When they commented on items, I checked them out. When mentioned free shipping, I jumped on filling my wish list. When a new item in a line was mentioned, I searched. When items on sale were mention, I bought. Probably bought way too much.

That won't happen now. But it made me realize this forum had so very much untapped marketing potential beyond just posters' recommendations.

instead of stupid annoying pop ups, QVC could have had displayed in a box in a corner the TSV for all to see. They could have had a box on the side showing what was currently on the air. They could have maximize this forum to be far more productive towards sales than they seem to think it is.They could told a make believe story about viewers at home reading the forum, exchanging ideas while wearing our pajamas and sipping wine. They could have promoted more traffic directly to their site by discussing the forum rather than trying to shove people to follow along on Facebook.

Sad.

From reading parts of so many posts I may be missing the answer to my question.  Did QVC give a reason why they are closing forums or just said its closing and when?

@Twins Mom  No reason. There is some poster speculation here.

My personal speculation is that QVC has been cutting costs lately and maintaining this board was expendable. Heck, if they don't even show all color options of an item live any more -- just online photos we can look at ourselves, and don't have many models and use vendors as hosts, getting rid of the cost to update and pay people to moderate this board is no surprise to me.

I do not watch QVC.  I do give it a quick look sometimes and settle in for a few minutes on my way to watching something else on TV, mostly reruns.  Spending hours on a shopping channel is not my thing.  Personally I am not a fan of the way products are presented these days.  Not a friend of the hosts and do not really want to listen to anything that does not have to deal with the product.  Not interested in their life experiences.  I just want product information.  These forums are a great resource for information on those products. They are honest ideas of real people.  And I make my own choices often going reviews on and off of QVC.  Amazon comes to mind especially in the field of electronics.

I will not go to Facebook.  I don't feel safe because I don't know the controls in place I love you all but you are not gettng my email address or my phone number, address, whatever.

So in a few short weeks I say goodbye, yall.  Had a great run and enjoyed your company.  And  Goodbye QVC as well unless there is a BIG sale  AS  IS OR CLEARANCE on stuff I really don't need in the  first place.
