Typical 'Napoleon' complex, AKA 'Little Man(hood) Syndrome'.
Yeah, that was exactly Jimmy Kimmel's point.

Madisson, If you do some research on this guy, he is a liar. The important thing to me is not that he's little, or bald, or whatnot! He's immoral.

I had hoped more states would have outlawed the canned hunts by now, but according to Wikipedia, there are unfortunately only 20 [not even half!] that have so far.
From Wikipedia: "Canned hunting has been banned or restricted in 20 states of the USA, including Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming."
If you live in one of those states, make sure your legislators know you want this practice to continue to be prohibited, and if you live in one of the other 30 states, let your legislators know you want it stopped in your state.

@Naturally wrote:wake up people. This goes on everyday all over the world. Why? $$$$$. Only making an example of this guy will help. This happens in USA daily. Animals are caged and then released and run out a known food outlet to be slaughtered by a high paying So called "hunter". I am not against all hunting. I understand the benefits. I also own property that people try to poach on. This guy has already been fined for illegal hunting.
Wake up, naturally, we already know all of that.
The only benefit to hunting big game is so some guy can feel like he's a big man while he destroys species on the endangered list, of which the African Lion is one.

@Madisson wrote:I love animals, so naturally I am opposed to hunting. However, it is legal. This dentist states that he paid a tour guide to help him on this hunt, and that the tour guide did not tell him that the lion was basically a pet of sorts.
There are two sides to every story, so I'm not going to be quick to crucify this guy.
The man is a convenient liar. He pulled the same stunt in Wisconsin - shooting a protected black bear and then dragging it to a legal spot. He was fined for being a liar. There is no reason to believe him this time; he just has more convenient scapegoats he paid up front to take the fall for him. He planned ahead and thought he was being cleverer than the other time. I win't say "first time" because really, who knows how many times he's done it.
The shooting is only one issue people have with this jerk. Being an outright liar *and* a sadist are the other issues.

No, it wasn't legal. And the lion killed and butchered wasn't a "pet of sorts."

I don't the killer has actually surfaced. All I've seen is he has had representatives contact authorities. Has that changed?
But IDC about Palmer. He's a symptom and in bringing awareness to this he's inadvertantly put a lot of light on it. The whole enterprise is foul.
Check out http://www.scifirstforhunters.org/ to get more understanding of some of the politics. These people advocate not for animals but for people to be able to hunt them. They lobby Congress on the trafficking and other things they view as roadblocks to their twisted bloodthirst.
I'm sorry, but I won't be clicking on that link, because as far as I'm concerned, I can't possibly understand the politics of trophy or thrill killing, nor those who lobby for it.
And I thank God that I can't.....
I don't understand avoiding the reality of how this type of hunting is promoted and protected. It seems to me that realizing how much money and effort is expended is exactly what we ought to be doing in order to begin to counter it in an effective way.

I think everyone has to do what they are able to do, but that doesn't mean they have to do everything. It would be different if this were a message board for some governmental agency that was responsible to take action. Then, yes, they should and they must learn all they can about these aspects. But this is not that place. It's not fair to expect everyone to read things they choose not to.

Please tell us just the name of the store for the Cecil tee's, no links, and maybe Poof will let the post stay.
I know I can google 'Cecil t-shirt', but I'd rather buy from a source who is giving back some of the profit to the cause of anti-poaching, etc., as well as a source you've dealt with before.
TIA!
Well, I got banned from the community, from 2-10pm yesterday, for "reposting a banned post". I did call C/S and complain, but d/n realy help. But, if it helped to increase the amount of anti-poaching donations, it was well worth it! Have a good day!
