They said there was not enough evidence to convict her,  i don't see her father doing it, and the body was in her trunk.

@goldensrbest  The body wasn't found in her trunk.  It was found wrapped in a blanket inside a trash bag in the woods near her family's house.  I'm not defending her.  I think she was clearly guilty.

Yes i know ,but there were samples og her dna in the trunk ,i thought,i know that babys body was so bad they could not get a answer to how she died,if my child was missing i would get to the police.

Most likely she died from accidental drowning in the family pool. Casey, and possibly her father, paniced and attempted a cover up.

That makes no sense, who would throw that child down in a swamp area , if it was a accident.

There have been a ton of ‘parent-kills-child’ stories

throughout the decades.

Why has this particular story remained in the news cycle?

Whenever I see her name, there’s always a thought-bubble

over my head that says, “Geeeze, why is she relevant?”

In the age of not naming the shooter/killer, I’m always surprised

why the Public hangs on one particular icky person.

I’ve never commented on a Casey Anthony thread & probably

never will again, but just perplexed,

Why do people crawl over themselves to keep her name in the news?

@sidsmom

Many people spent a lot of time watching every minute of her trial on TV.  I don't think there are other trials of parents accused of killing their children that are televised and that get the kind of coverage hers did.

People seemed totally invested in it and obsessed with it.  It was a TV event.  Like O.J.'s trial was.  Lots of men kill their wives, but their trials aren't a TV series.

So news about these people brings them back to their obsession.

@QueenDanceALot

Thanks. And I understand why OJ was of interest. He was famous

before the trail but this Casey Anthony was an unknown.

OK...to peel back the layers...with her being totally unknown.

HOW did it get to the point of being televised?

Why this trial?

Why this girl?

@Pearlee Thoughts?

@sidsmom I think the unusual circumstance of the child being missing for 30 days with the mother not calling the police but Cindy Anthony doing so made it newsworthy.   And Caylee was a cutie-pie so that smiling photo of her with her little hand up to her chin made her endearing to the public, who got concerned about her being missing.

There were also maggots, and it smelled like human remains.  I don't see how in the world the jury found her not guilty.  There was plenty of evidence.

@NickNack  I've posted here several times:  the jury did not understand "circumstantial evidence."  Strong as it was in this case - and it certainly was.

@blueluna

Thanks!

The thing that stood out to me by The Atlantic was:

The broadcasts were extraordinarily popular because

they were a potent blend of soap opera, reality television

and Law and Order. And, most of all, they offered

hours upon hours of guiltless judgment!”

That’s one of the saddest things I’ve read in a while.

Doesn’t speak well of us as a society, eh?

Innocent people don't do that.  Instead they call the paramedics with the hope that they can be revived.

NORMAL people would call 911 YES!  If you child  drowns who would throw the body off the road to rot... and why would they wrap  duct tape around the head???   That is not what an innocent person does  to their child.  This whole case smells of murder.
