I watched D&CO when Carolyn was making plans for clothing coming out in the future, different things planned for future shows, I personally do not think Carolyn knew what was coming. That is just my opinion.  I have purchased thousands of items from the Q in all the years I have been a member.  I have been there since day one. I ordered from the CVN days, that is how long I have been watching and ordering.  I have seen hosts come and go and Carolyn was my favorite.  She did an excellent job when presenting products and it was always fun to hear about her pets  and her gardening projects.  She had a great voice, always was knowledgeable about products and went above and beyond to explain the product, give the viewer ideas of the different ways clothing could be matched with other pieces of clothing presented that day.  I think QVC is forgetting that most of the people buying Denim and CO are not the younger generation.  I have listened to the many calls over the years and the people buying the clothing are middle aged or older.  I think QVC thinks that by having younger hosts and going a bit Woke , they will appeal to the younger generation.  I personally do not think that will happen.  The younger hosts just do not have what it takes to be a host like Carolyn or Dan.  After a few minutes I change the channel. QVC usually played on our tv most of the day, not now.  I wish Carolyn and Dan the best as well as all those behind the scenes that lost their jobs. I do not feel that Carolyn and Dan  were treated fairly so I will shop elsewhere.

I happened to have fallen asleep with QVC, I think QVC3 on, and when I woke up, in the wee hours, Dan was on hosting a food show, obviously an older one, but they are still showing the departed hosts.  Not buying from QVC anymore, just listen as background noise.  Other vendors sell most of same items, or similar, QVC needs us, we don't need them.  Not to mention QVC labels on Ebay deeply discounted.

Most peope using the word woke for anything and everything they disagree with, don't know where it originated nor what it means. It is just a catch phrase they throw around.

OK I will.

C+D did NOT get "Fired" ....they were LAID OFF. The difference is significant when it comes to post employment benefits.

They DID get severance. QVC press release detailed this in MANY releases.

The stock ticker is QRTEA (Qurate).

IF you go to that ticker on Google, you will pull up DOZENS of articles since March 1 regaring the LAY OFFS and the SEVERANCE PACKAGES.

Qurate Website lists current job openings showing the kinds of benefits this company offers which are in line with other multi-million dollar multi-national companies.

Finally...from the financial site "Seeking Alpha", March 8, 2023a "reason" why QVC is not doing well...I highlighted some of the article:

"Death of TV

Cutting straight to the point, the biggest headwind the company faces is the death of the traditional cable television service.

Qurate reaches hundreds of millions of people through TV packages yet the number is declining quickly as consumers increasingly consume online content and utilize streaming services.

Further, this has contributed to changing trends in the way TV is consumed, with less "browsing" TV channels but rather browsing shows/movies.

This will contribute to declining traffic to Qurate's channels, with this only increasing as the amount of tech-savvy individuals grows.

Our view is that this is an irreversible trend which will only diminish the number of new customers it can reach."

EXCELLENT ARTICLE on the WHY these layoffs occured, and the likelihood they may CONTINUE.

You MAY have to log in to read this, maybe not. I signed in with my Google Account....did not have to create an account to see it:

Here's more:

"Customer profile

QxH's customer data supports the developing view of the business we have.

The company's core segment is its existing customers, with little in the way of new customers or returning customers following a past purchase.

Qurate Retail QVC HSN

Customer profile (Qurate Retail)

The company is seriously struggling to attract new customers, while its current customer base continues to dwindle.

Our view is that this can only accelerate further over time.

As with an increasing number of their core base moving to their e-commerce offering, there is a greater chance that they will see less value and start comparing them to other retailers.

From Qurate Press Release DIRECTLY FROM THIER WEBSITE..Feb 28,2023

So you can rest easy...they got severance....

"After careful consideration, we have made the very difficult decision to eliminate a number of roles within our Qurate Retail Group team, impacting our QVC US and HSN teams, and our corporate shared services teams in the U.S.

Today will be the last day worked for most of these team members, although a small number will transition over time.

Today’s impacts affect approximately 400 of our team members across these groups.

These decisions are not easy but are necessary in realigning how we manage the business and heighten focus on critical priorities.

We are committed to supporting impacted team members through this transition with severance pay and outplacement services, including access to an alumni talent directory to support them on their career journey, as well as extended access to our Employee Assistance Program.

Impacted team members will also receive continued benefits coverage at the team member rate through COBRA for an extended period."

Here is Qurate's website so YOU can read the article:

So please rest easy people...they will be OKAY.

Some posters will persist in not believing it.

Perhaps a combination of anger and jealousy.

As in "I didn't get anything,  so I don't believe anyone does."

I think the problem people are having isn't that there were layoffs, but who among the hosts they laid off. When you hire younger people & lay off the older more experienced hosts, who customers have grown attached to, you're going to upset them.

If your business is already shrinking it isn't a good idea to tick off your customer base.

As far as severance,I'm sure Carolyn & Dan got good packages. That doesn't mean that they were happy to be let go.It's not always about the money.Twenty five years ago my husbands company merged into another & he was among 50 people who were laid off. They laid off the top earners. They were given 3 months notice &  re employment assistance. DH got an excellent severance package & was lucky enough to find a job right before his last day. Yet, he was upset for a long time because the company he worked hard for,for 20 years laid him off.He felt very betrayed.
