@ninjawife Send the extras to a Sr. Center or veteran home. They will love it.

Yes, I will be sending out cards and also receiving some in snail mail.

So many friends and family have died, and I remember each and every one of them while I send the cards out to those who are still in my life.

I save the cards for a while, and then I cut up the cards and use the blank parts for my shopping lists. Most cards still have parts left with messages or pretty pictures.

That way I keep those I love still with me, even in a grocery store.

Thanks to all the posters. Thinking how it makes me smile to see the cards, maybe this year, I'll send a few more.  Maybe this year, it would be a very good idea. Make someone smile, who you think could use some good mail!!  I think I will.

Re: Card sending poll....

[ Edited ]

Yes! I send 50-60 Christmas cards every year. It's a tradition that I enjoy! Since my granddaughters were born, eight years ago, I've been sending photo cards of them. I write a note in each one. I still send cards for everything. Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, get well, thinking of you, congrats, new baby, whatever. I call it my "Card Ministry." 🙏🏼 The people I send them to during the year, tell me that they like and look forward to them. I don't receive many myself but I do it because I like it! It does my ❤ good to let others know that I care enough to think of them and that I make time to send them a gentle reminder of that!🤗

@Starpolisher   It was always a tradition to shop for the perfect Christmas card each year with my Mom.  She would spend at least an hour reading the sentiment and choosing the picture that felt right to her.  Of course, there was always a hand written note inside each card that she sent.  She also enjoyed shopping for the perfect Christmas stamp!    She and my dad would sit at the dining room table and address the cards.  They probably sent out 50 or more.  It was time consuming, but they enjoyed it each year.  Even when my dad passed away, she continued the tradition.
I still enjoy sending cards each year...not as many as in years passed and I receive less each year.  But I will continue.

I love the idea of your "card ministry".  I also send cards for everything. Now my little granddaughters like to be included in the preparation of some cards including artwork and writing their names.

Yes, I'll be sending cards as I do every year. Everyone gets a handwritten note from me, not a letter just something short. I absolutely love getting cards and I don't mind if they send a letter, any communication from family and friends, I treasure. Especially love the photo cards too, since many people I don't see anymore.
