Current repair shop is a looser.
@fthunt. Very few state employees are elected, at least not the ones who do the actual grunt work. It'll be business as usual in state offices, unaffected by elections.

I wouldn’t waste time going to an attorney; I’d just go get my car and find somewhere else to get it repaired.

I would certainly report them to the BBB...... But, get your car back first.

Maybe a Yelp review might help too.

ZZZZZZZZ Yawn - Why am I not surprised?

@staciesmom Drop by the repair shop ASAP and don't tell them you are coming. You might find out that the car isn't there and they've been driving it all over town with the top down.
We had a work truck at a body shop and they kept telling us that the parts were backordered, etc..., and after waiting many weeks for it to be finished, we discovered through the GPS system that the repair place had been driving it all over town, racking up close to 200 miles.
They'll be getting a call from our attorney.

usually if a part is difficult to find OR is going to take some time, they would call you when the part came in. you keep your car and take it in when the part arrives. no need for them to keep it this long when you can keep it in your own garage or parking lot.
have no idea if you are talking about a newer car or more of a classic car to determine why it would take so long?
if you are not happy with the situation it is an easy one to take care of. go pick it up and find another reputable auto repair facility in your area.

Nowhere in your post do you state the year of the car. Is it a registered antique where parts may be difficult to find and replace? If so, you'd need to seek out a specialist in that particular field.
If it's a relatively new car, my first impulse would be to take it to the authorized dealer where the car was purchased.
It sounds as though you didn't do your homework. Go get the car and take it home until you find what you need.

Unless money has been paid, which the OP has not mentioned, an attorney or state attorney general, even the Better Business bureau will tell you the same thing.....go get the car and take it somewhere else. It is not illegal or fraud to provide bad customer service.

@SeaMaiden wrote:@staciesmom....it is your car...they did not fix it...go pick it up and take the car in to someone else. Why call your attorney? Have you paid them for work done? Is that why? Confused....🤔
@SeaMaiden: it's a model car that not all repair shops can work on, that's why we took it to the closest local dealership.
