My car insurance went up 20% this year. I'm 66, never had a ticket, never caused an accident, and drive a 2006 Impala with just 45,000 miles on it.

I recently got a letter from Allstate saying they are giving a rebate of 5%--about $44.00. Big deal. That is almost nothing and I barely drive anywhere now.

I got mine last week and it went down about $50.00. Down to the amount it was back when I was driving my 15 year old car before I traded in for a new one. I just assumed now that my new car is almost three years old that was the reason. The only explanation they gave was in big print SEE INSIDE FOR MAJOR DIFFERENCE. I was like Great!!

A notice came w/the bill that due to COVID yada, yada, yada.....
Today, I got a thank you notice for payment & MAYBE I will get "rebates" again like last year.
Anybody else's premium stayed the same or lowered?
I am w/AAA
I know there's an old adage beware of things that sound too good to be true.....BUT this is LEGIT....
My friend that works for an insurance company said that since people are being quarantined/locked down or are now working from home are driving less, therefore, you have less of a chance of having an accident so most insurance companies have lowered their rates or given a special discount which varies from company to company...(BTW comparing with friends and family State Farms discount was the least amongst the many different companies)

I think mine went up☹️ just because they can.

We received a check in the fall, and another one this week. Glad for any rebate.

My auto insurance is with USAA and it has never gone up and as a bank member has additional coverage at no extra cost...love it!

Better coverage with LM at a lower rate.
Your ins company will keep hiking your rates as long as you tolerate it.
I just received my homeowners insur. bill from Mercury Insur - it has gone up a few hundred dollars in the last 4 years. I use the same insurance co. for my auto - and that's also gone up and I drive very little. When I read ur post a few days ago, I emailed my insurance agent to find me another company. I'm in California - and I knew that they keep raising the homeowners rates - because they've paid out a lot of money on all those wildfire claims the last few years.
