This may seem foolish to some of you, but it seems like there have been more of these commercials on TV than ever before.....and so many cars that go so very fast.  Just can't understand the reasoning with showing how fast these cars can go......  And so many of the cars they are showing are so very expensive that the average person cannot afford them.  They are even showing how much it costs to lease one.  Also have noticed how loud these vehicles are......

New cars (2017) come out between August through October.  Reason for so many new car commercials & what these new cars can do.

My DH has been 'trying' to purchase a new car....last week the salesman called and told my husband that 'his car' would be in the next day and to come out a look at it (we did not order a car!)  Then the salesman called that day and said the car didn't come in....we have yet to hear from him again,

this is a dealer in our small town.

In another townn about 15 miles away he was also working with a salesman that two weeks ago just quit calling!  What is going on with sales people?  We took a drive this evening to another town about 30 minutes from us, they had one car on the lot that that he could possibly be interested in but the price was $30,000! We certainly have no intention of paying that kind of money for a Ford Fusion!  Cars are just to expensive.

Sorry OP didn't meat to hijack your thread....just venting!

I just bought a 2017 Acura.  I love it.  My daughter drove it this weekend.  A lot of people don't like the way it doesn't have a gear shift (buttons) but I like it.  The new cars have a lot of new safety features.

As far as how fast they can go, I guess there are still people out there who think they can still go fast, whatever.  In the DC area it's too conjested to go fast, that's a joke!

There are areas where people can afford expensive cars.  I know in the DC area you don't see many cars older than a few years.  I think in this country people still see having a fancy new car as a symbol.

@Annabellethecat66....My dh has always traded cars every 3 years  the car he is currently driving is 5 years old...not old by some standards but he wants to trade....just cannot seem to find a car!   Most vehicles on the lots are trucks or SUV's he wants a car.

I just bought a new Chrysler Pacifica Touring-L last Tuesday, and I totally love it. I wish I COULD see a commercial for it just so I could look at it on TV. Smiley Happy

I tell my son-in-law what kind of car I want and I want everything you can get on it.  I don't  care a lot about the colors (not much to choose from!)  I didn't even know what color I was getting when I went to pick it up.

We go to the dealership and my son-in-law says (pointing to a car) "That must be your car".  I said, "Oh!  OK".  I just don't like real red cars.

I only like SUV's.  My late husband had a dealership license.  He'd bring home every make of car (brand new with no mileage) from the car auctions.  I'd drive it for a month or two and then we'd sell it.  So, I've driven a lot of different cars, I know what I like.

There are a lot of nice cars out there.  My daughter just said she was in an Infinity sedan and it was nice.  What some people call luxury cars aren't a lot more than other cars (like Camrys), I don't think.

I leased my last car but I'll probably only drive this for a few years and then give it to my granddaughter who will be 16 by then (and she can drive me around)  Ha!

Come back and let us know what you got.  I think it's neat to hear what others drive.

Remember in the old, old days when a friend or neighbor got a car, everyone would come out and look at it and it would be a big deal?  That was neat!

It's out with the old and in with the new!  Make room for 2017 models...
