I'm driving a 2005 Camry with 250,000 miles on it.   I know I'm going to have to trade soon & I'm already stressing about it!

I also own a 2000 Tundra with 200,000 miles on it.   They are both in perfect condition.    I'll die when I finally trade.

I plan on keeping it until the wheels fall off.

Hi @LilacTree, I hope today finds you a bit better than yesterday and the day before and!

I certainly agree with you on the Pharmaceutical Commercials, but now seeing also the many, I believe, class action lawsuit commercials also?

First the advertisement to have your doctor to prescribe X for you, then the attorneys commercials for lawsuits.

One thing led to another John.  I don't like either.  In fact, I don't think our health should be exploited on TV at all, unless it's a factual documentary, fully vetted, and not sprung upon us so we don't have a choice whether we want to watch it or not.

As you may understand, I worry enough about my health issues, as I have many.  I think enough about "the end" all by myself.  I don't need constant reminders on TV about how we're all going to die from something.

Profiting either way, either pushing drugs or pushing legal action is an anethema to me.

Thank you for thinking about me.  I am getting there.  Starting PT in about two and a half weeks.  Have a great day.  ~Ford

@SeaMaiden, Hello to you,

I raced cars for many years and my top priority was?? Yep, you guessed it "safety". Sure, I raced some beautiful cars, but how they looked was never my top priority, not even 2nd. That belonged to "they had to be faster than my competitors", then maybe came their beauty.

The few commercials I do watch, I have seen Cadillacs and Chryslers moving very slowly down city streets. These of course are mostly 4 door sedans. Most usually reserve their "race course ads" for their sports coupes. I see just as much of 1 as the other. But like I've said, I buzz through most commercials.

"Truly sad"?  New cars made much of my life happy, as does our home. Guess it is all about how one looks at their life. Have a good one,

Not sad for me either. I love getting a new car every few years. I worked hard in college to get educated, and I worked hard all my working life to afford the things I want. I can afford them, so I get what I want. What's sad about that?

My granddaughter did the Honda Coupe commercial she was the square head blond lady with the square head poodle, Jeremy. Lol,  he got paid SAG scale like the rest .  Lol. The car commercials really are a breed in themselves. They have to spend millions on these 15 and 30 second spots!!!  They run one for a month or two, then do the next one. All the actors in the commercials have to sign a clause not to do any car commercials for two years

I guess I have a way of ignoring car commercials. As far as cars I had my last one ten years. It was a Nisson Maxima and I loved it. The car before that was a Chevy SS . My favorite! Ten years also. I was young and it was fast. I now have a Honda Acord. It's ok. I don't enjoy driving it. Age has something to do with it---my age!

@shoekitty

Did the clause also include a free Honda or at least a steep discount??

no!!  But they'd treat you really well while doing a commercial, and pay well. The meals and treats are great I hear, but that's is a SAG requirement.

This may seem foolish to some of you, but it seems like there have been more of these commercials on TV than ever before.....and so many cars that go so very fast.  Just can't understand the reasoning with showing how fast these cars can go......  And so many of the cars they are showing are so very expensive that the average person cannot afford them.  They are even showing how much it costs to lease one.  Also have noticed how loud these vehicles are......

Exactly! You just pointed out what most car lovers love! I know all my guys find 0-60 in a flash, how loud they are,and how glitzy are the three selling points! I find the prices of cars today are disgusting! The worst part is they cost what a house does and last maybe 5-10 years!
