Re: Can someone explain this to me?

@wvumountiefan

In addition to what others have said, I think that people who have been running multiple errands want to wash their hands before touching their face to remove the mask, so that could be it too.

Re: Can someone explain this to me?

Same for me as @Nicknack says. I find taking my mask on and off is a hassle because of my eyeglasses around my ears and long-ish hair. And I use hand sanitizer each time too after touching my mask. So if I am only going a short distance I leave it on just because it is easier than taking it off, putting it back on and sanitizing my poor hands which are feeling the effects of all that alcohol.

I see it occasionally and have even done it a time or two but I'm just wondering why it bugs people so much!

Wearing a mask has just become a habit with me.  I think I'm now so comfortable while wearing a mask that I forget I have it on.  I'm not brave when it comes to catching COVID.

Re: Can someone explain this to me?

@wvumountiefan   I’ve only seen one or two people wearing masks while driving. It is odd if they are in the car alone but not if others are in the car also.

Wearing a mask at home is probably a good idea for people who who have a high risk person living with them.

Is there more than one person in the car?

Some people just don't know the rules. I see people wearing masks outside on nature walks where either there is ZERO people & getting 6 feet apart is easy. People are dumb.

Re: Can someone explain this to me?

It's so funny you should mention this.  I thought the same thing until it happened to me - TODAY!

I was doing some errands and my last stop was going from Target to the supermarket.  I had my kids in the car with me and we were talking.  One of my girls then asked me why I still had my mask on.  I didn't even realize that I was wearing it.  I completely forgot.  I think it had to do with the fact that I was worried about getting the bags in the car, making sure the girls (and myself) sanitized our hands before getting in the car, and then my husband called my cell, etc.  If I am going from store to store, I usually just hang my mask under my chin, but if I'm going home, I take it off.  Today I forgot.  I think some people are getting so used to the masks that they are forgetting when they even have them on sometimes.

Funny, @Shepherd, but I'll take those people anytime over the anti-maskers.

Re: Can someone explain this to me?

I go out only to drive a mile to TJ's once a week. I put my mask on before I leave because I have to fiddle with it and then put my sunglasses on. I don't want to do find a parking space and then sit there doing that when others might think I'm leaving. I do take it off for the drive home.
