I read reviews that said it won't work right if you have a filter on the phone line (for internet noise) so I didn't order it.  Glad I read it before wasting the time and effort.

@Free2be- we have a filter on the phone. It’s working fine.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

Re: Call blocker- recent TSV

@gidgetgh  A few reviewers did say it worked for awhile then went wonky by blocking all incoming calls or caused intermittent issues.  Hope yours continues to work well.

Apparently there can also be an issue with power and drain from other products being on the same phone line.  It would have been nice if the person demonstrating would have addressed why some phone set ups cause problems and how to avoid them.

I got mine already set up and it's working fine. FYI for VoIP users...when I connected the wiring the way it showed in the instruction booklet I lost the CID display on my phone. So I had to place a 'splitter' in the main line and split it two-way, one wire going to the phone and the other wire going to my VoIP box (Ooma). It will work either way, but the initial set-up did not allow CID to display on my phones. It displayed as 'Incoming Call' with no number showing. Glad I got it figured out to work.Smiley Happy

ETA - Don't forget to register your device and be sure to 'purchase' the extended 2-year warranty...it's free. All you have to do is enter a code on the check-out page and that will cancel out the normal charge for it.

@Greeneyedlady21@chickenbutt: I also have the Panasonic system that blocks 250 calls. My block log isn't full yet, so l haven't had to un-block any calls so far. But l still have my manual, lol. Here are the pertinent instructions for un-blocking individual numbers, or all or them. Also, you can view the manual online by googling your model number, or get online help using the web address at the bottom of the first page below.

happening here,  they keep saying how they answer the calls, then complain about how there are so many

I get very few in part I think b/c I never have picked up the phone since I got CID

Right?   It boggles the mind.    The fact that one is legitimizing their number so that it's saleable by these people to more just like them is pretty much rudimentary and has been explained over and over.

These folks complain about getting 20, 30, 50 - etc, calls a day.  those of us who never answer them - I don't know about everybody for sure, but on a bad day I might get 4 calls and that's using nomorobo.   I hit 'block' on my phones for every single one.

I did one time block a lady from my dentist's office but I guess she took her work home and was calling the people who had Monday appointments on Sunday.  oops!  She was cool about it and everything was fine.  Smiley Happy

@chickenbutt@jackthebear: l wonder, though-- once the phone rings out and goes to answering machine, doesn't the scammer then know that it's a working number?

Re: Call blocker- recent TSV

Handygal - what I felt forced to do, some time back, was to turn off voicemail on my landline.    So, unless a call gets blocked by me (which 99.9% of them do because I'm home 99.9% of the time), it just rings and rings until it either stops or they hang up.  I think it does cut off at some point because   somebody told me that happened when they called and I missed the call.

Green - I'd just do it the way Jackthebear mentioned (total shortcut from the manual that I had forgotten) -

  • menu
  • #217
  • then scroll up down

Re: Call blocker- recent TSV

Just received my call blocker and set up a hour ago. I have been swamped with robo call all week, now I am just waiting for the phone to ring. So far nothing! And I cannot wait to push the block call button!

before I got NmRobo, the calls would stop after 3 rings   I wonder if the robocaller system only is active once an actual voice answers.

have never had a robocaller leave a msg
