No.  I've never even heard of any of those stores.  What were the top-rated ones?

THe article I read only gave the worst ones.  You have never heard of Wal-Mart?

Re: COnsumer Reports Grocery Store survey

I've heard of most of them.  Some I haven't shopped at often but have a few times when traveling.

the one that seems to be popular that's everywhere near to me, is Safeway.   Liked it at one time, but it's my least favorite store now.  No...I didn't vote!

Re: COnsumer Reports Grocery Store survey

I do pretty well at my Super Walmart. I can't do my whole shopping order there, but I do go reguarly. They do have some organics also. They're the only store I've been able to get good plums this year(not organic). I like the black plums and I like them ripe and sweet and I have had good luck. We have Stop & Shop around here as well and it's also a decent store. The one closest to me took over a Foodtown store with a great natural food section-like a store in itself. Stop & Shop didn't change it. The other stores mentioned aren't local to me. I like grocery stores though-the thrill of the hunt-Smiley Happy

Re: COnsumer Reports Grocery Store survey

I wouldn't give much credence to this report.  I think there an automatic prejudice against Walmart.  Mention their name here on the boards, for example, and all you get are riduculous, inflammatory comments.

I shop there exclusively since our neighborhood Albertsons went out of business.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with them.  Good produce and bakery, I only buy chicken in the meat department and it the same as anywhere else. They have all the canned and frozen goods a person could want, great dairy selection.  Store is neat and clean, employees helpful.  Now they have the shopping service which I've used since last October.

I'd much rather shop at Walmart than our local version of Kroger, and that all the grocery stores we've got.

Very east-coast-centric list.  I know Safeway and WalMart but rarely shop at either one.

Re: COnsumer Reports Grocery Store survey

i believe it.  Shaw's and Stop&Shop are the two stores closest to me and they are dirty stores and  overpriced .

Shaw's is about 8 miles away and sometimes they have a decent sale. other than that the store is too disgusting for my taste.

Stop&Shop is closer but they are the only game in town and they pay rent on their former,  empty grocery store to keep competitors from moving in. they just started requesting surveys and i would bet due to Consumer Reports' ranking.

Wally World is OK but i never buy chicken or meat there.

the others i haven't heard of...

I found the complete list of grocery stores rated by Consumer Reports, from the top at 1 to the bottom at 68.  This was the 2015 report, I can't find a report after that except for a short comment that Wegman's is number 1 again this year.

Walmart was at 67.

The top three were:

1. Wegman's

2. Publix

3. Trader Joe's
