USA is the first country to test the vaccine.  It’s not made with live virus; rather, it uses a copy of a short piece of the genetic code of the virus.

I wonder if we will be required to get this vaccine eventually.  I think Johnson and Johnson is making some progress.

@QueenDanceALot, agree with you 100%.  Also, just because it may work/be safe in an animal test doesn't mean it's safe for humans.  A great example was the case discovered in 1962 with the thalidomide babies.

Everybody wants a vaccine for this virus to be available tomorrow.

Well, in order to get there, you need human volunteers to test the effectiveness of the vaccine.

I admit that I don't know the exact step by step process of get a vaccine from idea to open consumer use.

Will it be mandatory that people get this vaccine once it becomes available?

Probably not.

Is it mandatory now for people to get the flu shot?

(And yes, I know that Covid is not  the flu!)

Heck no!  And what is QVC doing to protect its employees?  They're still on the air...touching everything with camera crews....what about the people in their warehouses?

Who knows how long it will take for any adverse effects to show up.  It may take hours, days, months and even years.
