@lynnie61 wrote:@cheriere I try to never be rude, I worked in customer service for years, but my dear mom always said, what's the worst they can say? No. So that did help me learn to speak up. I know it can be hard. Hope they can get it worked out and get it fixed for you.
I know just what you mean. I always try not to be rude too because I worked with lots of people for years. I guess I just expect better from people. I need to be more assertive.

Oh my goodness! What a terrible way to take advantage of someone. That same thing could've very well happened to me though, I tend to believe what people tell me. However, the older I get, I have learned not to believe so much. That's a shame too because no one likes to be disappointed in people.
I hope if something should happen to his car again, you'll have him call you first so you can go with him. We all need this kind of support from time to time.
You sound like a wonderful mom.❤️🌸

I thought it was odd....now reading this account, maybe not so much!!!!
( I bet they photographed it before they made the first cut!!!)
It is a GOOD thing you marked it! My mom told me about a story she'd read online about a surgeon actually removing the wrong foot from somebody!

Surgeons write their initials on the site that is being operated on, while the patient witnesses it.

@cheriere Geez!!! You shouldn't gave to pay for their mistake. Don't let them charge you for anymore labor or the additional sensor. If they don't send you a survey request, post something on Yelp or Google and give an honest review!

@cheriere Thank you. For what it's worth, since he charged it, might try disputing some of it with the credit card company, but it would really be his word against theirs. And no sense speaking to the manager, cause he was there, too. Oh, well, live and learn, unfortunately.

@cheriere wrote:Well, I had an appointment at the car dealership this morning at 9am to get an oil change and a sensor replaced. The left passenger door kept showing Ajar, when it really wasn't.
Anyways, I just NOW got home! When I arrived at 8:50am, I was told this would take one hour to complete. Almost 6 hours later, when I got into the car, the passenger door Ajar light was STILL lit up! I was told that the mechanic put a sensor in the driver door instead, even though the work order specifically said Passenger Door, as well as the Big Red Light on the dash!
So, it didn't get fixed because they have to order one for the passenger door, but they'll call lol. I also asked how long it would take this time? I was told two hours...I guess I should expect 12, who knows? Plus, the part cost $51, but I still had to pay $465 for labor today! I'm just exhausted.😩😡
@cheriere That's just not right. They should give you a discount for the inconvenience.

I'm beyond upset! I had to pay today, the entire bill. However, the guy in charge assured me there would be no additional charges whatsoever. When my dad found out, he told me I'd never hear from them about getting the right part in after he found out I already paid them.
I just didn't know I could leave without paying. Now, he thinks they'll even try to take the new driver door sensor they put in by mistake out! But, I don't see how they could do that.
He also said that these dealerships spend about 15 minutes working on each car and then go to another, so they can charge for a full hour, especially when they see women coming.😡😡😡
Think your dad needs to understand how complex repairs on cars have become. 15 minutes is absurd to replace a sensor. There are books available as well as utube videos that show how long and the steps needed. I have never felt that as a woman I have been taken advantage. I always ask questions and educate myself. My dad was a mechanic and when he retired he saw how complicated repairs were, thst was 15 years ago.

@cheriere When you take your car back in to have the passenger sensor replaced, see how long it takes them to replace it. If it is less time than originally charged for labor demand a refund for that amount of labor. You should only have to pay for the amount of time it takes them to replace the one they were supposed to.
