My grandparents from Italy had two pictures hanging up in the living room - President Kennedy and Pope John XXIII. But they also watched Billy Graham every time he was on TV.

He reached everyone and had a simple, powerful message of love and compassion.

Too bad his son isn't like him at all.

Terrier,

Are you referring to Franklin Graham? Franklin is deeply involved in the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, is president of Samaritan's Purse and travels the world year round preaching the Gospel message as his father did. Billy's grandson Will is dedicated to ministry just like his grandfather and father as well.

I've seen the videos of the crusades, and I still see them now and then on a couple of our cable channels.

It's hard to talk about death, but I wanted to say I believe he touched countless hearts and transformed and enriched a legion of lives.

His life was his love offering. I pray for his last days here to be a peaceful, gentle transition.

I keep thinking of one of my favorite hymns... and one that often was his altar call... Just As I Am.

Hi dooBdoo...I was talking with my mother about Billy Graham today. She told me she started her spiritual journey as a young married woman with a book called Peace With God by Billy and now, at 84, is reading his last book called Nearing Home. That really touched me when she said that. They have both brought her great peace. Just As I Am is one of my favorite hymns, too!

Yes, that Franklin Graham...the one who has made very inflammatory statements.

This was at Vanderbilt Stadium in 1954 it was amazing, I was there. This was the last night of the crusade and they said an estimated 65,000 attended.

How wonderful you were there! such an experience!

Hi, joyful jubilant.Smile

That's a lovely story about your mother, with a touch of bittersweet. I've never read his books, but now that you mention it I think I'll take a look. Thanks.

I've been humming all afternoon... "Just As I Am."

I think he has been ready to go to new home in heaven for quite a while now and probably wonders why he hasn't been taken there. While on earth Billy Graham has been a wonderful inspiration to many of us. He is one minister who I always sat and watched him on TV. He never ever failed to keep my interest on what he was speaking about. I would love to see him one more time ministering to all of us. I don't think there will be any questions asked of him when he gets to heavens gates everyone will be there to welcome him finally home.

Hi cater.

You may remember that Rev Graham recently celebrated his 95th birthday. (November 7)At that time "The Cross" aired nationally on many television stations, and continued to be aired in many time slots and marketplaces throughout the week. Several of the giants in contemporary Christian music had gotten together to compose music specifically for this occasion and a CD, titled "My Hope" was released.

One of the artists that composed and sang on the CD was Michael W. Smith. The friendship between Michael and Billy Graham goes back more than 30 years. In fact, it might be even longer. Just prior to the CD release Michael was interviewed and shared that every time in recent months that he got together with his dear friend, Rev Graham clearly stated that he was ready to go home. The title of the song that Michael wrote for Rev. Graham is, "Take Me Home". I think it really speaks to the heart of how Rev Graham is feeling now. Trust me - - Billy is ready. The family has asked for our prayers this weekend.

You said that you would have liked to have heard Rev Graham preach one more time. Please know that if you go to You Tube, you can still view "The Cross", which was a most important message that Rev Graham worked on over the last year and shared with our nation on his 95th birthday, on the evening of Nov. 7. I thought you might be interested in viewing it.

Blessings, Christine

Thanks Christine. I have seen Michael W. Smith in concert! He is a great talent.

I will miss Billy as I went forward at one of his crusades.

You should do your research because they both believe and preach the same thing that being the Word of God.

I do not believe the word of God excludes Muslims or gays, as he does.

Even Francis says that atheists can get to heaven!

Hi Westie. I think I have seen MWSmith in concert three times now. Most recently on Dec 1 when he began his Christmas concert tour in Tennessee. I have always been a huge fan of his too. Keep hoping I will run into him some day in Nashville or Franklin TN. Smiley Happy
