It's hard to talk about death, but I wanted to say I believe he touched countless hearts and transformed and enriched a legion of lives.
His life was his love offering. I pray for his last days here to be a peaceful, gentle transition.
I keep thinking of one of my favorite hymns... and one that often was his altar call... Just As I Am.
nice post

Boy I see a lot of misinformation around here today.
Pope Francis said that Christ died for all humanity, not just Catholics. By doing good works, he believes that aetheists who do good works can meet with believers of the same and eventually faith in God will develop.
He never said that aetheists will automatically go to Heaven; he was speaking of the unifying of believers with non-believers to do more good works on earth. What happens to aetheists when they die is up to God whether they believe in Him or not.
There is a difference between redemption and salvation.
As far as Billy Graham, he was a true believer and lived his life as one. May his passing be peaceful.

Dr. Graham has certainly led a life of service for The Lord, has been loved by many, has counseled world leaders, and will definitely be missed by many of the faith. I enjoy watching the Gaither Homecoming show on Friday nights. Last week's was a concert under a big revival tent on the Graham property. The museum looks quite special. To get inside, you enter "through The Cross" - symbolic of how to get into Heaven.

Terrier,Are you referring to Franklin Graham? Franklin is deeply involved in the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, is president of Samaritan's Purse and travels the world year round preaching the Gospel message as his father did. Billy's grandson Will is dedicated to ministry just like his grandfather and father as well.
Franklin is not like his father at all. Franklin is all about culture wars and making a name for himself.

He leaves a great legacy.
My grandparents from Italy had two pictures hanging up in the living room - President Kennedy and Pope John XXIII. But they also watched Billy Graham every time he was on TV.
He reached everyone and had a simple, powerful message of love and compassion.
Too bad his son isn't like him at all.
You should do your research because they both believe and preach the same thing that being the Word of God.
No, they do not. I used to work for Billy Graham, personally. Billy never talked like Franklin, nor was he political.

I do not believe the word of God excludes Muslims or gays, as he does.
Even Francis says that atheists can get to heaven!
Hmmm it doesn't really matter what you believe it's what the Bible says that matters. Francis is wrong.
The Bible is open to many interpretations.
I prefer Francis' INCLUSIVE interpretation to Franklin's EXCLUSIVE one!
I think JC would side with tolerance and inclusion too...
No He sides with the Word of God which is the Bible. But He loves everyone and wants repentance from men. As I said why wreak such a nice thread? It is just about Dr. Graham in his last days.

If you can, I would recommend taking the tour. Besides the cross you are referring to there is another cross inside the museum at the end of the tour. You walk through it, at the base of the cross. It's illuminated by white light. Once you come through, you are in the last room of the tour and standing before a wall to wall/floor to ceiling painting of the hill at Calvary. I think I recall our guide telling us that this was Thomas Kincaid's last work. the painting is magnificent and we were told that it took several months to complete the painting. It was obviously a great labor of love.Dr. Graham has certainly led a life of service for The Lord, has been loved my many, counseled world leaders, and will definitely be missed by many of the faith.
