All I see is "error 44" when I googled it , it said filter needs to be taken out and washed and replaced. I do this about once a month.

machine will stop and this red light comes on saying     error 44 I got a scrub brush I use.  First one I ever had that did that.

You have to use both hands to hold down buttons to set it to what function you want it to accomplish. left hand holds down 2 keys and the right hand presses another key and has to be done in rapid fashion or it starts over.

I've got mine on 'one hour' wash and if you don't press 'start' and immediately close the door it will go back to factory default of 2 hours and so many minutes.

You all enjoy your Bosch's though, happy for you.

@SharkE, wow. None of this is something I have to deal with on my Bosch. Very strange.

If you are only going to be in your house a few more years then only buy what is priced in keeping with the value of your home.

For example, do not buy a $350 whirlpool if you are in a $750,000 home.

LOVE my BOSCH ... never had an issue with the filter...  EVER!

Would NOT purchase anothe KA ... I had several.  The last one had too many issues,  the CONTROL PANEL being one of them.  Used to swear by KA... not any more.

Yeah, my last word on it is I sent letter to Bosch saying "you make these things for engineers  ?I can't understand all these codes just to get the thing to work and the filter you have to dig out and wash and fit it back in the bottom and turn the arrows so they are pointed at each other to make sure it's a tight fit.

I'm using it till it dies and hopefully corona c*ap will be over by then and I will have a better selection and can go back to Whirlpool or maybe LG.

Kitchen aid mixers the new ones, now, not the old ones aren't worth a **** either. People don't care any more about their jobs and turning out faulty materials.  I had to send back a KA mixer twice one to the factory for arriving with bolts missing and then the 2nd time the beaters never blended anything together and when you reset the beater height it would either drag or be to high. QVC refunded my money.   I went on to buy a retro machine and never looked at another KA nothing.

We have not had to clean our Bosch filter since we've had it (we do lightly rinse our dishes).  And I don't recall any setting up involved at all.

@suzyQ3  do you check the filter? i have a Bosch and rinse dishes also. The filter does need to be rinsed out from time to time. I usually do it once a week.

@SharkE , that is awful performance.  I just hate it when I get a lemon 😒🍋🍋🍋.  Doesn't matter what the brand is when that happens!  S

That's a good question, @panda1234. We've had this Bosch for more than two years. We already knew from an earlier model that we rarely had to clean it. So with this one, I checked the filter for the first just now and didn't see any debris.

I do think that's is a good idea to check it occasionally or more often depending on how well or not you rinse. But honestly, even if I had to clean regularly, it wouldn't be a big deal to me.

@SharkE - What model Bosch do you have?  It might be useful information for anyone buying to stay away from.

I think consumer reports named Kitchen Aid among a few others as the top. .  The best thing you can do is only get what you need, if you dont require all the bells and whistles dont get them.  A repairman for my stove said dishwashers are eteir bread and butter.   He looked at our old dishwasher and said, if it works, dont replace it.  The more electronics and modes, th emore their i trouble.  Tey are harder to fix.  Many new dishwashers require replacing the whole computer panel when some things go wrong.

regarding Bosch.  They usedto be among the best.  They were sold and like everything else things were changed andmodified.  I heard it is a few of the Bosch models that are great and some are dogs.  When you research brands make sure you inquire about te model you like specifically   It make sa difference
