Thank you both for the explanations of the new Barbies.   How wonderful that children can learn about the differences that exist in humans.

Having taught children and adults with disabilities for decades, I am not sure if this is exploiting or is inclusionary; I think for little girls with Downs or with vision loss the dolls would be relevant, but I hope those little girls would not be expected to play with these dolls and not all the other Barbies out there. Sometimes Mattel tries too hard. I agree they would be great in a preschool class. Kinder classes would not be having any type of Barbie dolls in the classroom.
