The fact is we all are in this covid soup together.  The ethical thing is to avoid all high risk activities like airplanes, restaurants, and events.  If we get covid we may be OK, but we could kill others.  And further endanger medical people.

This might be an issue if it were your daughter's shower.  But as you said, you're not close to the MTB; and would only know two people at the shower.

 

Decline the invitation and send a gift. 

Do the math.
