Re: August 21. Solar eclipse!

I remember one when I was a kid, and our teacher had us make these *boxes* to view it safely.

Of course, I left my box at school, and I was so tempted to stare at the sun.

We live in a prime spot!  I think all the motels are filling up for that if they haven't already.

Good for you!  Be prepared for big crowds...where I'm going, hotel rooms sold out one year in advance.  I'll be staying with family.  They're planning on stocking up on everything in advance, since the stores will be packed with people and shortages of some things are to be expected

I live in an area of totality.  Local lodging is already almost 100% reserved and there are lots of festivities planned for the week leading up to the eclipse.

Same where I'm going!

It won't be in my area but now I'm thinking road trip.  We don't need a hotel, either.

I read about this two months ago, and I envy you!

For once-we may be able to see it partially in Florida- and the Perseids Met so Shower has been blacked out by clouds over the past few years.

That would be so awesome if you could post a video here-just sayin'Smiley Happy

Anyone thinking of taking photos or video of the eclipse beware, do not fail to use a SOLAR FILTER over the lens during the partial phases or you risk damaging your equipment.
