I logged on to Hotmail this am only to find they had changed the format and now my computer is "hanging up" repeatedly and Internet Explorer says it's "stopped working". Anyone else having these problems? Really frustrated between MS automatically downloading Windows 10 and now this. I would appreciate any feedback - thanks!

Re: Are you a Hotmail user...

I've been having that problem for a few weeks.  The screen just flashes like a strobe light and it won't let me enter my password to sign on.  I can sign on at work, but not on my home computer.  I was thinking it might be because I haven't upgraded to WIindows 10 yet.

Re: Are you a Hotmail user...

@msvictoria I have had the same problem for a few days now.  I have not downloaded windows 10 because my brother said that it was bad.  That hasn't stopped microsoft from completely messing up outlook express/hotmail.  It locks up repeatedly.  Not sure why.  I assumed it was because I refused to download 10 but you have downloaded 10 and you are having the same issues.  I hope that they get this fixed soon.

In addition, the features on this forum do not work for internet explorer, (ie the @ feature.  No one seems to care but me.

Have you tried using a different browser - like Google Chrome or Firefox? IE might be the problem. Micorsoft is doing away with it. I have Hotmail and have not experienced any issues. I've upgraded to Windows 10 and use Chrome as my browser.

Just curious.  Since you downloaded Windows 10 and you said that microsoft is getting rid of internet explorer, what do they use in lieu of IE with windows 10?  I cannot imagine that MS is endorsing Chrome or foxfire.

Re: Are you a Hotmail user...

IE is a piece of doo doo the last 2 years, and getting worse.  Yes, I have it.  I refused to download windows 10, because how will it be better.  Personally, I have heard, and I believe that Microsoft is just letting IE go in lieu of other projects.  Because how else could a stellar company let IE run so badly.

Many online businesses and banks don't even use IE well anymore.  I can no longer get into my bank with IE.  I have to use Chrome or Firefox.

Don't even get me started about outlook mail.  Every few weeks they update something, and not for the better.  Outlook takes forever to load, stuff gets turned around.  I hate it compared to what it used to be.  It is not my computer because if I go in the back door with chrome to get to my outlook mail, it works better.  I get "Your Internet has stopped working" at least once a day.  Funny, because my internet IS working, just not through IE, LOL!

Re: Are you a Hotmail user...

I have four email accounts and one is OUTLOOK (hotmail).  I have not had any problems, but I use it very seldom.

I have  never used Internet Explorer and don't plan to.

shoekitty

Thanks for your information. I wasn't clear in my original emai asking "Are you a Hotmail user..." because Windows 10 did automatically download, BUT I figured out how to revert my computer back to Windows 8.1 and am working with that, not W10. Since then is when the constant problems started and sometimes it takes forever to click onto to anything and other times it is working fine.

I am going to try using Chrome and see if things improve. Thanks for taking the time to offer suggestions!
