Yes, for some things. I do have a weak spot and I do get attached to some items.

On 3/15/2014 _Not an easy sale said:A very sensible reasoning,Marrienkaefer2... how we come in accumulating "STUFF"! I did this saving 'thing' of almost everything. It has taken some time for me to get rid of all of the unnecessary STUFF, but I am almost there. I do hold on to photos for passing down, along with a few (a few) pieces of favorites items from family members; 2-3 little things I hold dear to my memories, though. Material STUFF: I have enough clothes, furniture, linens etc. that can benefit those in need. I would suppose material STUFF-as in giving to multi families is a better treat for me than for others in receiving. It feels great to get rid of all this STUFF. I do save those all the special drawings, cards, and school projects from my child. I have seen women in their 60s -80s just trying to find room for all of this STUFF. That's my opinion that works for me. Not to apply for anyone else, though.
I like the way you used the word STUFF! My uncle used to say "Look at all this STUFF!"
"Why do we need so much STUFF?"
I've saved a few special pictures/portraits of my grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, etc. No more than one or two from each. I also have several old photos of the extended family back in "the old country." Several are 100 years old.
It all fits into a shoebox (except the couple of larger pics that are framed.) That's it. I got rid of old letters, cards, etc. I looked at them each one more time, and then that was enough.
I agree with you. It works for me, may not work for everyone else. I just don't want to deal with all that STUFF someday, and I don't want anyone else dealing with it, either.

Demitra: Perhaps one day your daughter's children will resemble their grandmother (you) and truly appreciate the items that you have saved for them!

Yes, very much so.

Yes. I have keepsake boxes (photo style boxes) that I save things in. Pictures, cards, letters, etc. I have a hard time getting rid of stuff like that.
