Daily Positive Thread for the Weekend! Be Back Monday!

Hello my friends! Thanks for your posts on the last thread, I know you'll understand that I won't have time now to answer each one of you, but thanks so much for your prayers for Lori's surgery, and your friendship! My prayers for you all continue daily!

If you'd like, just keep posting on this thread all weekend - when I get back I'll start the new thread - and I will enjoy reading your posts here!!

Now I have to pack, and leave very shortly! God bless you all!!

There is always a reason why people act as they do. Lord, help me to be

more patient and understanding.

Scripture for the day:

"Through him you have come to trust in God, who raised him from the dead and

gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are set on God." ~1 Peter 1:21

Meditation for the day:

I can rely on God. I can trust God to the limit. I can depend on God's

power in all human relationships. I can wait and trust and hope, until God

shows me the way. I can wait for guidance in each important decision. I

can meet the test of waiting until a thing seems right before I do it. Every

work for God can meet this test of time. The guidance will come, if I wait

for it.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may meet the test of waiting for God's guidance. I pray that

I will not go off on my own.

Words of Mother Teresa:

+++

Do not be afraid of loving to the point of sacrifice, until it hurts. Jesus'

love for us led him to his death.

+++

God pays attention to our love.

Not one of us is indispensable. God has the means to do all things and to do

away with the work of the most capable human being.

We can work until we drop. We can work excessively. If what we do is not

connected to love, however, our work is useless in God's eyes.

+++

All sicknesses have cures. The only one that cannot be cured is the sickness

of feeling unloved.

I invite all those who appreciate our work to look around them and be

willing to love those who have no love and to offer them their services.

Are we not, by definition, messengers of love?

Love is the product of every season.

+++

We have been created to love and be loved.

A young man was dying, but for three or four days fought to prolong his

life. The Sister there asked him, "Why do you continue this fight?"

"I cannot die without asking forgiveness from my father," he answered.

When his father arrived, the youth embraced him and asked forgiveness.

Two hours later, the young man passed away peacefully.

+++

What we say does nor matter, only what God says to souls through us.

+++

Good works are links that form a chain of love.

More of Mother Teresa:

Am I convinced of Christ’s love for me and mine for Him?

This conviction is like sunlight which makes the sap of life rise

and the buds of sanctity bloom. This conviction is the rock on which

sanctity is built.

What must we do to get this conviction?

We must know Jesus, love Jesus, serve Jesus.

I must not attempt to control God’s actions;

I must not count the stages in the journey He would have me make.

I ask Him to make a saint of me, yet I must leave to Him the choice

of that saintliness itself and still more the choice of the means which lead

to it.

Thank You Lord

by Elsie Natalie Brady

I cannot thank you Lord enough

For all you've given me,

For food and shelter, and for love

Of friends and family.

In time of sorrow you stood by

And held my trembling hand,

You wiped the tear drops from my eyes

And helped me to understand.

Although I cannot ever know

What the future has in store,

Your love will always see me through,

'Til we meet on Paradise shore.

Daily Acceptance Prayer

Author Unknown

Accept yourself completely.

Accept your strengths and your weaknesses,

Your gifts and shortcomings,

Your good points and your faults.

Accept yourself completely as a human being.

Accept that you are here to learn and grow,

And accept that you are learning and growing.

Accept the personality you've developed, and

Accept your power to heal and change.

Accept yourself without condition or reservation.

Accept that the core of your being is goodness

and that your essence is love, and

Accept that you sometimes forget that.

Accept yourself completely, and in this acceptance

find an ever-deepening inner strength.

From this place of strength, accept your life fully and open yourself to the

lessons it offers you today.

Accept that within your mind are both fear and love,

and accept your power to choose which you will experience as real.

Recognize that your experiences are only the results of your own choices.

Accept the times that you choose fear

as part of your learning and healing process, and

Accept that you have the potential and power

in any moment to choose love instead.

Accept mistakes as a part of growth,

so you are always willing to forgive yourself and

give yourself another chance.

Accept that your life is the expression of your thought, and commit yourself

to aligning your thoughts more and more each day with the thought of Love.

Accept that you are an expression of this Love. Love's hands and voice and

heart on earth.

Accept your own life as a blessing and a gift.

Your heart is open to receive, and you should be deeply grateful.

May you always share the gifts that you receive

fully, freely, and with joy.

The Lord keeps a clean house

I heard someone knocking at my heart´s door,

and I looked to see that it was Jesus the Lord.

I knew right away that I couldn´t let him in,

because my heart was too dirty from the stains of sin.

Jealousy and strife hung on the walls

Lying and cheating litered the halls

Envy and lust hung on the shelf

Along with alcohol and drugs that I had put there myself.

Hatred and malice was scattered all around.

Murder and robbery could even be found.

Fornication and adultery were plentiful too.

Jesus kept knocking, but what could I do?

I said, "Lord, it´s too dirty for you to come in.

Wait another day, and come back again.

Let me clean it up the best that I can,

so that when you return, I´ll be a better man".

But the Lord said, "Child, you listen to me.

There´s no possible way you can get it clean.

You´ve tried and you´ve tried, but it still looks the same.

But I´ll clean it for you by the power of my name.

It´s something that you just cannot do alone.

But I´ll wash it with my blood, because it is my home.

So open the door and let me come in.

I´ll clean up those dirty stains of sin".

I opened the door and he was faithful and true.

He cleaned it right up, now everything´s new.

Now when my heart gets dirty, it doesn´t stay for long.

Because Jesus, my Lord, keeps a very clean home.

The Cross - by Clarita Calasanz

It is now the Lenten Season and we have stations of the cross and other

devout practices which reminds us of the Passion and Death of Our Lord. This

is the story of our salvation and the ongoing love story that God has with

all of us. He loved us with an infinite love in spite of who we are and

never mind how cold and indifferent we have been towards Him, or how far we

have strayed away from Him. He continues to love us anyway.

Lent reminds us of the crosses that each of us has to bear, sickness, broken

relationships, financial problems, loss of loved ones, etc. We are naturally

afraid of that and it's so much better not to think about it. But we are

told to Embrace the Cross and it will be much easier to carry.

The following story is probably fiction but it drives home the point. A

certain nobleman has decided on finding the Garden of Eden or the Land of

perpetual youth. He was told he had to carry a wooden cross in order to find

what he was looking for and he agreed. He thought what a small price it was

if he could realize his dream. The cross was given to him and he started on

his way. The cross was heavy, so he decided to carry it on his shoulder.

After a while, it became intolerable, so he decided to just drag the cross

after him as he walked. That worked for a while, but it eventually became

unbearable also. At his wits end he decided to lift the cross with his two

arms and to hold it close to his body. He was embracing the cross and he

discovered it was becoming lighter as he went on his way and he finally

reached his destination without any problem.

I have been afraid of the Cross, but I also love the song, "Be not afraid, I

go before you always, Come, follow Me". It is one of my favorite songs. It

is a very encouraging thought during Lent. Instead of being afraid of the

Cross let us Embrace it and rely on what Jesus promised: "I will be with

you", and we will be surprised to find how truly easy it is.

Meditations by Padre Pio

If you suffer with resignation in doing His will, you do not offend Him but

love Him. And your heart will find great comfort in remembering that in your

hour of pain Jesus Himself suffers in you and for you. He did not abandon

you when you fled from Him; why should He abandon you now that you are

proving your love for Him by the martyrdom of your soul? (GF, 174).

Re: Daily Positive Thread for the Weekend! Be Back Monday!

Hi Gloria good luck to Lori with her lasik. I will keep her in my prayers.

I just got home from the hospital yesterday. I had 2 surgeries in four days and have to go back in 2 weeks to have another stint put in. I thought my daughter would at least text me but nope. She didnt. She really doesnt care and I did nothing to deserve her treatment. She is beyond cruel.

Have a safe trip. Be blessed - Felicia

Re: Daily Positive Thread for the Weekend! Be Back Monday!

Good afternoon!

I haven't posted in a few days so, once again, I'm out of the loop. Since I haven't gone back to read the posts from the past few days I don't know what is going on but I take it that Gloria is with Lori for eye surgery? I'm sure things will go just fine, she will be in my prayers.

Felicia, sorry to hear of your health problems. The last time we talked you were having troubles with your daughter, I'm sorry she has hurt you. Focus on your recuperation and upcoming surgeries, you have to worry about you right now. You are in my prayers.

Love Roses, hope your day is going well.

I hope everyone is doing good. I've been keeping busy with my husband and helping him recover from his surgery. Please continue to keep him in your prayers as he continues his recovery. Thanks!

Have a good evening and peaceful night. God bless each and everyone with all good things.

Be still, and know.

Sunday Morning Here.

Hello To All!

My blessings I will post are that I was able to get some yard work done yesterday. Weather has turned nice enough to get some things done. I have a roof over my head and food on the table along with the air in my lungs. I have more yard work to do today and I will plant flower seeds in a planter for color and use. Praise all the stars and garters, my Q order finally arrived!!! The items won't need to be exchanged or returned. That is blessing for me!

Here's Lucy - Glad you posted.

Double J - Keeping you in mind as well.

LovesToPaint and Hasawaknow - you are also in my highest and best thoughts.

BobbiSue Meant to include you as well, of course. It's good there's an Edit choice on the boards.

I am so grateful and thankful for this wonderful nation and all her people, rights, liberties, privileges, freedoms, and her outstanding troops. We have good allies, generosity and resilience. We are here for a good reason and we daily magnify all the good that life can offer. Be at peace. Know you are loved.

Re: Daily Positive Thread for the Weekend! Be Back Monday!

Hello To All!

My blessing this morning is that the quake didn't hit as strongly as others and we are okay here. Had a quiet weekend too. Yard work was done and only two other efforts need to be taken care of out back. Another busy week with some challenges but I have a positive outlook about all of it.

Prayers for Skip are still requested.

What a blessed nation we live in. We have so many blessings, too many to count. Every region has her qualities and her beauty. We have outstanding troops and allies, good citizens, generosity, charity, privileges like no other countries along with liberties, freedoms, and rights. I couldn't be any prouder. Take care, be at peace, know you are loved.
