@goldensrbest , I hate these September storms. The giant hardwoods, especially the oaks, are in full leaf so they are like sails catching the wind. I worry a lot about tree loss. Personally I would rather have a winter storm.
We lost five significant hardwood trees in Dorian and the cleanup was horrendous. It too, us almost two weeks working every day to finish that job. You couldn't get a contractor because the entire municipality was a mess.
We are now in the calm before the storm. Check in friends when you are able. Be safe. LM

My dad;s parents were from Nova Scotia, where they did get the storms that veer to the east.
Beautiful place! I hope you get through the storm without damage.

I wonder what will happen in the bay of Fundi (sp)?
I'm in VA and it's just passed here. Even a long way out it was breezy here.
Your gardens are so beautiful, I hope all is okay there . Please keep us informed.

Godspeed to anyone in the Maritimes!

Yes @Lilysmom1 God bless and stay safe. We were supposed to be in Boston, Vermont, and Cape Cod right now but we cancelled. I'm a Miami girl and so have much sympathy.
Most hotels were nice about cancellation except one in Provincetown. They gave us a one year credit which they should not have and probably will not use.
Anyway, I hope you have plenty of provisions and are safe at home.

Better to have trees down, as long as they do not fall on structures, than no heat
