Re: Anyone from Maine in the way of Hurricane Lee?

@sugar plum  That is a crazy amount of rain especially in a short time.  We got three months worth of rain in one day in June and I thought that was bad.  That rain caused flooding and washouts.

I have to drive a couple of hours today to pick up my brother who summers here (from BC) in an RV.  We originally planned for a Sunday pick up but the hurricane caused us to move it up.  He flies out Wednesday.

Be safe and report in if you are able.

Re: Anyone from Maine in the way of Hurricane Lee?

Thanks everyone.  We have been in hurricane prep mode for awhile.  What we bring in from the garden is stored.  The side by side ATV is now in the detached garage so we can get both vehicles in the attached garage.

This is a big slow moving system.  What I hate to see is when these coastal systems coming up the coast collide with inland systems coming down from upper Canada.

We have 7 universities in our city.  I worry about newcomer students not used to hurricanes and the homeless which seems to be an ever growing number.  The city will open comfort centres so I hope they take advantage.

We will be watching Maine and praying for you.  We get hit Saturday into Sunday.

Re: Anyone from Maine in the way of Hurricane Lee?

@Lilysmom1 I'm in RI and we are under a Tropical storm warning at this time.  We will experience winds about 45mph and heavy bans of rain.  Most likely will lose our power but our friends on the Cape and Islands will have much more to contend with, as well as coastal Maine.

Prayers for all in the path, be safe in Nova Scotia!

Re: Anyone from Maine in the way of Hurricane Lee?

We live on the Southern coast of Maine. Due to the hurricane taking a more easterly course we are just expecting a Tropical storm. More along the lines of a NorthEaster. High winds, huge waves, flooding. Nothing we haven’t experienced many times before. We will be fine. We battened down the hatches in preparation of the winds. I’m more worried for my friends north of us. More in line with a stronger hit than us.

The good thing is it is not winter,so for us that do not have generators, that is good.

Thank God!  Lee has lost strength and shouldn't do so much damage!

Hope you garden just flourishes from the extra rain!

Stay safe!
