It would be hard to fault the level at which a handful of individuals took the bull by the horns and created a viable alternative to boards that, ostensibly, were closing. It would also be hard to imagine anyone not being sincerely and deeply appreciative of their efforts in doing so and in their continued efforts to hone the site. That, however, shouldn't mean there's then no room for the occasional dialog, involving feedback, both positive and negative.

Concerns alluded to here could be more about the overall curt and occasionally parental (wait until your father gets home) tenor of communications, and the somewhat 'absolute' nature of certain statements than about any single or specific action taken. After all, that forum is not the stepchild of any corporate entity that must be appeased. It could be that many expected a more collegial approach, which might also have netted more positive reactions and fewer criticisms, not to mention, more foot traffic.

It seems most of us are happy those boards exist but that doesn't mean there's not room for improvement and not all improvements need be of a technical or organizational nature. Sometimes it's just a matter of tone.

Some of the Posters who went to the Pro Boards expected things to be different because they knew the Posters who became Moderators, and they expected them to be different from the Moderators here. Low and behold they realize that the Moderators are in charge and not their friends and that's the way it should be but it would have been great if no one knew who the moderators are.  I think that was a big mistake.

I'm not sure there was the expectation that moderators would be our 'friends', though one might also not have foreseen a situation where an 'us versus them' approach to posters would evolve, along with a seeming virtual replication of the overall  'tone' here. Again, these forums are part of a larger retail entity and as such have decided to keep their forums somewhat 'vanilla' and have ostensibly suggested that moderation be relatively strict. While there was never the expectation of a free for all on the new boards, neither was there the expectation that the climate would evolve as it has. Personally, I don't have a problem knowing who the moderators are.

It is unnecessary to bring this into this topic. All it does is stir the pot.

Well, when you are basically a decent person who writes short and sweet comments, and you get chewed out by a prima donna, you tend to remember. She intimidates other mods too. Proboards is lucky if fifteen people are posting at any given time. Of 1200 members, the majority have less than 25 posts and many stopped posting a month ago. I post simply because I appreciate the efforts of the person who tried to give QVC posters an alternative.

@AuntG  I know what you mean. Over 1200 members are registered but when my neighbor tells me how many have posted, I'm shocked. Some signed up but never Posted.

Continue Posting there and stay ahead of the "mod"   that you are talking about. Most of us know.

I find it amusing how often there are hit and run membership registrations at the PB site.  Sign up, read whatever, delete membership.  Wash, rinse, repeat.

@Marp  I wonder why that's happening?  They don't have to use their QVC names and no one would know who they are.

Someone mentioned here earlier that people are changing their name and that's not right because no one knows who they are.

By the way @Marp  I'm not there but my neighbor is there and here  and from what I've read, you should be a moderator. You know more than they do.

@Sage04 I'm starting to think your "neighbor" is actually you.

No idea what or who is being discussed here.

Just glad I can post in both places.

The only thing I know about the mods over there is that when this place was going to be closed, a few people who aren't paid a cent, joined together to give us a place to continue to keep in contact with our friends from here. Their rules keep the place from being chaotic and it's peaceful. And the private messaging is great to talk to friends..🥰

Thank you! I feel the same way, and it irritates me no end when I see people over here bashing those women. They stepped up, donating their time and resources, and you see these ungrateful people swiping at them. It is so irritating. We should be supporting women instead of tearing them down.

Yet you and others have no problem tearing  down other posters here for voicing an opinion because you may not agree.  Seems like younshpuld be supporting the women here instead of bashing them.

I am not tearing anyone down. I said the the commentary wasn't necessary. This was a topic about whether or not anyone could get into the other board not a topic about the mods.

@Porcelain  I wouldn't stoop that low. I registered the first day but deleted my membership. Wasn't interested. I'm not a followerer. Only someone like you would think something like that. So SAD.

@Porcelain, my neighbor and friend have been a Poster at QVC for years and she has the same name here as there.

Thanks for letting me know how you feel. I appreciate your candor. You must feel you really know me to feel comfortable saying something like that. I'll believe you that your neighbor is a real person. I haven't noticed them in the other forum. Maybe they only lurk and don't post anything.
