Re: Anyone else interested in watching the Ken Burns' documentary The Roosevelts? PBS tonight

Well I wasn't going to watch BUT my husband got me interested in it....lol.. We watched a bit more than the 1st half (but then he had to go to bed to get up at 4). So we will finish watching the rest tomorrow. My husband is a history buff and always watches these kind of things.

i think they should have broken this down into hour long episodes instead of them being two hours.

I said the exact same thing to my husband.

I was surprised at Teddy Roosevelt's love of war. He called it fun. I think he was a little crazy. Looking forward to Franklin but Monday night football may interfere.

I think it was a fast two hours and I would have been happy had it been three hours.

Beautifully done as always by Ken Burns. Bully, as TR would say!

It's interesting to see the variety of opinions. For me, it was typical Ken Burns excellence. I'm planning to watch it again, in fact. Since these usually re-air several times during the week, perhaps some might like to watch it in 2 parts instead of the full 2 hours at one sitting? I think if you check your local schedules, you'll find multiple showings throughout the week.

I read an article that said Burns was determined to show the family "warts and all," so we get to see and hear things we might not have known otherwise. I look forward to the next shows!
