Re: Anyone Watching The Funeral Services?

Yes...I watched most of the service. I'm so glad the President sung. He has broke out in song before, but didn't sing as much. It was such a special touch.

I'm sorry I missed it.    I just turned it on as the President was leaving the stage.

Very sad....I didn't realize that the Senator had young children.

Do you think that the service will be repeated later on?

Lotus, on the night of the shooting, the Reverends wife and one of their daughter's were hiding.

Re: Anyone Watching The Funeral Services?

This funeral was undoubtedly a celebration of the life of Rev. Pinckney and the lives of the other eight people whose time here was cut short.  I thought the eulogy given by the President was one of the most uplifting yet honest "sermons" or "talks" I've ever seen from him, not counting the one for Beau Biden, which was so much more personal.  Amazing Grace is one of my favorite hymns, it was sung at my mother's funeral, and the way he started singing it brought tears to my eyes.

I hope we won't have to see anything like this again for a long, long time....

I hung on every word.  "Middleton!"  Wonderful memories of a great man.

And his speech... was amazing.  Amazing Grace.

@Lotus,  C-Span might rerun the service.    They often rerun special events like this.
