@Beth-QVC We love our Alexa too! So glad we bought it when it was a TSV. Everyday my family (including kids) gather around Alexa for the Nat Geo Quiz. A lot of fun and they are learning geography in the process. We love Alexa so much, I bought 3 Echo Dots for different floors of the house.

Oh, Alexa arrived from QVC a day before we were leaving for a trip. I took her with us. She was a great companion in our hotel room for weather forecast and information.

I have an alarm and a few reminders set right now.  My Dot was a gift, something I didn't think I wanted or needed, but it's been a few months and I'm using it quite a lot.  I don't want to be without it now!

It's great to easily get weather, news, whatever I want while I'm making my morning coffee and getting my day going.  I also play Jeopardy every day, ask for mileage if I'm going somewhere unfamiliar, and it's good for recipes too.  So it's safe to say that I'm somewhat hooked.  It's like a toy, but a useful one, and I'm enjoying finding new uses for it all the time.

I have had the Alexa Echo for almost 2 years now and she is indeed my personal assistant. Also have added the Dot and Tap, using Tap outside when I work in the garden and yard.  Alexa provides me whatever I need, want and desire within the realm of what she does and I depend on her daily. Considering all she does, she truly deserves a raise!  This is not a toy, Alexa is an important tool that enhances my life!  As I get older, I can see how she will provide even more as my needs require......

@Starliteshine

I am glad to hear someone else enjoys the National Geo quizzes; my sister finds it annoying (she is TERRIBLE at geography!). Like the idea of taking it on holiday - might get more out of a trip with Alexa along for the ride....

Can you access your iPad or iPhone music library with Alexa?

@mooshka

I believe you can access your music library through Alexa.

@Nightowlz I don't find the light to be bothersome at all, since it's only momentary.  I sometimes will wake up in the middle of the night and ask Alexa to tell me a baseball score.  But the light ringt only comes on when I call her name.  Doesn't stay on very long at all.  It's not a case where the light is on all the time.  Have fun with your new Dot!

@Krimpette DH was not happy I put Dot in the bedroom so I can turn the air/heat on/off when I want to. He said it's a waste of money to only use it for that. I told him that's why I bought it. He want's to leave her in the kitchen. I told him to buy his own Alexa. LOL!!! She does not answer him half the time because he keeps calling her Alexis instead of Alexa.

@Nightowlz But, as I'm sure you're aware, Alexa is great at "multi-tasking"!!!!!!!  Enjoy your Dot.  I have Echo in my kitchen and a Dot in my bedroom.  Contemplating adding one more.  I just asked Alexa if I had any reminders set (knowing that I do).  She answered back with my next three reminders (coming up on different days in the next week or so).  Alexa rocks!!!!!!!!

@wagirl Can you listen to two different songs/stations on your dots at the same time? TIA

@Krimpette It sure was nice this morning when I woke up hot & told her to turn the Hallway to 70°. I will have to buy another one for DH so he can set all his reminders for things to do at work & meetings to go. He kept talking to her last night & I was trying to go to sleep. I finally had to tell him to shut up. LOL!!!
