You can now set reminders.  Tell Alexa you want to set a reminder.  She'll ask for particulars - date, time and what you want to be reminded about.  You can set for any future appointments, etc.  When the time is reached, she'll remind you what you wanted to be reminded about.  Example:  Yesterday afternoon, a friend of mine asked Alexa to remind her to take a shower at 7:15.  Come 7:15, on came Alexa reminding her twice to take a shower.  I have set reminders for several things coming up later this month.  She repeats back to you what you're asking for.  (Oh, and you can see all your reminders on your Echo app.  (Unlike timers, she doesn't keep making a sound.  She only repeats your reminder twice.)

I believe you can now also add a description to timers, which i especially helpful if you've set more than one timer.

Cool.....really cool!!!!!!!

For Reminders & Timers you can go into the Alexa app & set up multiple "reminders" & "timers."

Thx for sharing. I just bought an Alexa Dot to put in our bedroom so I can turn on the AC when I wake up hot. LOL!!! I should have set it up when I received it instead of waiting to do it today. I will have to find a place to put her so the light does not bother me when I talk to her. I wish I could turn the light off. Maybe you can & I just don't know it.

@Nightowlz I don't find the light to be bothersome at all, since it's only momentary.  I sometimes will wake up in the middle of the night and ask Alexa to tell me a baseball score.  But the light ringt only comes on when I call her name.  Doesn't stay on very long at all.  It's not a case where the light is on all the time.  Have fun with your new Dot!

@Beth-QVC Hi, Beth: Maybe you can answer a question for my dh. We just bought the Amazon Echo and then signed up for Unlimited Music through Amazon. My dh wonders if he bought a Dot, would he be able to listen to different music on his Dot in another room if I am listening to an artist or station on the Echo? TIA

@pattypeep

I believe the Echo and Dot are completely seperate....so the answer is yes. Keep in mind that the major difference between the Echo and the Dot (besides the obvious size difference) is the speakers in the Echo are of exceptional quality while the Dot not so much.

Yes, each dot is separate.

wondering if there is a way to connect them. Was listening to the beatles  Sarg Peppers album yesterday downstairs and would have liked to hear it upstairs too. I love my dots--have 2--one up and one downstairs. Have the remote you can talk into as well--that works great. And have them both hooked up to Bose speakers so the sounds are great. but love being able to put my months worth of appts in and not worry about writing them down. I am not one to put stuff on my phone. use it as a phone and to text--that's it.
