PS - update to the update re: Amazon

Well, just an hour ago I received another email notifying me that I will get a refund!!  This has been the most bizarre exchange with a retailer. Again, I thanked them and hope this is the conclusion of this purchase.  I just placed another big order yesterday so....will I receive that one??  Time will tell!!  Life never fails to amaze me!!  Smiley Happy

I like amazon.  Their customer service has always come through for me.

That said...

I just checked an order I placed yesterday.  I chose 5-8 day free shipping.  I'm not in a real hurry.

Good thing, too.  One item...the thing I wanted more than the other...will arrive Apr 6 - May 6.  Hopefully things will happen sooner than that.  If not...oh well.

My experience has always been that if the ETA is kind of far out, I've always received the order before the closest date given.

Might not be as fast if it's a purchase with a third party vendor, but if it's from Amazon, I would bet that you will end up getting a revised ETA at some point and it will be moved up.

Really irritated with Amazon right now. Had the two day Prime shipping and when the package did not arrive they assured me it would arrive the next day. No package. Now they say two more days.

(Thread Title)

Not the Amazon I have patronized for many years now. I have ordered going back to "Mail Orders  "from the late 1960's, up to and including Amazon prime. At least 100 different retailers.

If there is a better 1 out there in internet land? I ain't found it. Nothing or nobody can be 100%/100% of the time. You find such a place and they have comparable prices? I will wait to hear from you who that might be.

This thread seems to have a long life.  I had to track it to the very end.  In my book Amazon is King on the online retail world.  My packages arrive at the door what seems like immediately. Any problem I HAVE EVER HAD they have solved it quickly and with great compassion.  And that was before I became a Prime Member.  I love them and my guess is they are showing the way for others in the business world to follow.

Once, opver a year ago, a package arrived addressed to someone else.  I called amazon, and was told UPS would pick it up in the next three days.  UPS never came.  I called again, etc., UPS never came.  I tried one more time, same result, so the package is still sitting in m,y garage, eventually to be donated, keep forgetting to do it, and will have to dig for it.  Lots of problems with UPS and USPS through the years.

I suggest you do some research.  Amazon is not always the lowest priced.  They use algorithms to track pricing and the price of an item can fluctuate from minute to minute.

I am a proud Amazon shopper, however, I am aware that some items give a Prime Ship Date of 4-5 days.  Yes, not everything ships in 2-3 days.  If it's Prime eligible it will state that (4-5) days usually.

Although I've only been with Amazon for 10 years, I have never had any problem with them.

As @bonnielu mentioned, ". . . they are showing the way for others in the business world to follow."

With Amazon, I have more choices in an unlimited marketplace from around the world.

By the email they sent you earlier do you mean the dates given on your order confirmation?

From what you are describing if your order showed out for delivery/delivery by 8 p.m. the problem is with the carrier, likely UPS, and not Amazon.  Your anger is misdirected.

I agree. Once Amazon has handed over the package to the carrier, it is kind of out of their hands and the responsibility of the carrier.
