I've had a few issues with them, but over all they've been excellent.  Over packing with air pillows is not good when you have a liquid in a plastic container.

I try to order stuff that's on prime shipping tho.   Some things don't ship for a week when it's not prime.

I think you're the first person I ever heard say that about Amazon!

I'm with you.  I think Amazon is awesome!  I have never had one problem with them -- and I shop with them A LOT!!

I haven't read all of the responses, so I may be repeating this.  But, if you look on the page with the "green bar", the tracking number is usually at the bottom of that page.

You just need to copy the tracking number and paste it on the carrier's website to get delivery information.

OP, have you been back to this thread and read the responses to see how to get the tracking #?  I hope you figured it out.

I have good service with third party sellers too.  Most orders ship quickly because they want a good rating.  One seller told me anything below a 4 hurts their sales.

I have even ordered internationally with no problem whatsoever. Of course, if possible I select sellers with the highest rating.

I have had only one issue not resolved with Amazon and it was my fault. It was a long time ago.  I flew off the handle got in a tizzy and just didn't handle it right.

I am surprised to read this thread topic as I have been a long time Amazon prime member and never had something I was expecting on a certain date not arrive.

If they gave you an estimated date range between a few dates such as between March 3-6 say, that means their carrier has that timeframe to deliver the item(s) to you. Hence it is within the timeframe they stated when you placed your order. Amazon uses Lasership carriers in my area and sometimes they deliver same day and on Sunday's too. They always send me a tracking number in an email once it ships out.

I had a strange experience happen this week re:Amazon and UPS!!  Last Wednesday, a stranger rang my door bell - a lady.   She had an Amazon box for me.  She related -  this box was in the middle of the street in a very busy crossroads on my side of town.  She stated that all the cars were driving around the box.  She pulled over and picked up the box.  She saw that it was from Amazon so she took it to a UPS store in town. She wanted a receipt for it, but they would not give one to her!!  So she saw my address, looked it up on her smart phone and brought the box to me!!  I was so surprised and amazed that there are still some decent, honest people in this world.  The box was banged up a bit, but the contents inside were fine.

My tracking shows that "something is not right" with the order, but not delivered.  I did email Amazon, but have not heard from them.  Obviously a big mistake on UPS' part. What if the contents had been broken??  What if the lady had decided just to keep the box and contents? Am really wondering what Amazon will do or say....probably nothing!!

   -----------------------------

Just wanted to update the "finale" of this issue.... I had emailed Amazon about the concern I had with the poor  UPS shipping and handling.  Well, despite the fact that I did finally recieve the order (though not thru UPS) --- Amazon totally refunded my expense!! They are going to follow up the issue with UPS. A great example of wonderful customer service and standing behind company's guarantee!!! Thanks Amazon!!

Placed an order with Amazon - hate their tracking system, all they give you is a green line moving along to tell you how far the package has traveled.   Made a purchase early last week with four day delivery.  Said to be delivered yesterday by 8 p.m.  Nothing.  Went online this morning and they don't even show my tracking info.  Went into email they had sent me earlier and now it is saying "Delivery between Mar. 5-9".  I really hate that they don't give you a tracking number.  You have no idea how the package is to be delivered, by mail, Fed Ex or UPS.  Last order I will place with them.

@hoosieroriginal I haven't read every post sorry - did you place this order via Amazon Prime or a third-party vendor on Amazon?  *(sounds like a 3rd party - I remember that delivery estimate).

Amazon has never, ever failed to make right on any of the few problems I've had (and every time I've had a problem, it has been with a third party seller - those I can't stand and stay away from now).

Hope you got your package.

2nd Update --

Okay this Amazon exchange is just getting more and more unreal!!  Now, I had sent two emails notifying them that I did get the order but notiofying them about the poor shipping/handling of their carrier!   After they sent me an email telling me that I would get a refund, today I get an email telling me that they are going to charge me after all. This is after I sent them a thank you note!!

So strange...either someone did not read my first two emails or someone decided that they'd get me anyway.  Mind you, I don't mind paying for what I received. But looking at the situation from a customer service point of view....and the fact that I did not have to tell them that I had the order... I would think Amazon would have just sucked up the cost! Oh well, thanks to my mom's teachings, I could not have lived without letting them know that I did have the order!!!  Smiley Happy  Life goes on...

I always get my orders in two or three days even when they tell me 10. I have no complaints whatsoever.
