Amazon has again raised to $35 the minimum non-Prime order amount for free shipping of Amazon fulfilled orders within the contiguous 48 states.

Not really earth-shattering news, but why shouldn't Jeff Bezos get a little richer, since he is sailing his yacht all over Italy, and might need some extra fuel money?

What is your source? I couldn't find this news anywhere. All searches came up with $25 minimum for free shipping for non-members.

I agree membership works for me as well. I don't purchase from the Q anymore and use Amazon a lot for household, beauty items, groceries, video, etc., not to mention all the other benefits.

The monthly fee is $14.99 and well worth it for me. I get several deliveries a week and also order for my grandkids quite a bit. My orders arrive the next day if ordered by 7pm.  I also enjoy the other perks with free movies, music, books, Amazon Fresh grocery delivery.

When we order from Amazon we always have at least a $35 order and free shipping.  We had Prime but dropped it.  We still get our orders in a few days--very fast shipping even without Prime.  Have no need to pay extra for it.

Prime for students is 49.00.  I've never understood why Amazon doesn't offer seniors the same benefit,  I dropped my Prime too.  You can club yourself into the poor house,
