@Mistreatedbycs I'll second what many of the previous posters said: "I love Amazon Prime". Other than food, I buy almost exclusively online. The older I get the more I dislike the hustle and bustle of box stores. I can sit in the comfort of my own home, surrounded by my furbabies, and look for anything that I need or want. You certainly need to make your decision based on your needs.

I think it is a smart move - look at Walmart - lowering free shipping to $35 - amazon may follow. Shipping from Amazon is pretty quick as it is and Walmart is even quicker.
Me, I love to put things in my cart, but hardly ever purchase - I don't have money for extras anymore - but it's fun to "window shop" - like we used to look at the Sears and Penney catalogs and earmark the pages of things we wanted. I always ask myself, "do you need it or do you want it?" Being retired, I don't wear 1/5 of the clothes I have anymore - so I know I don't ever need anymore clothes cause I never go anywhere special. I find myself paring down as much as I can. Wish I had done this years ago and saved thousands of dollars for my retirement!

Our Amazon Prime expired at the end of December. I have not renewed yet, and don't know if I will. It is very convenient because we live in such a small town where Kohl's is the only real "department" store. We do have a Walmart also.
I find that without Amazon Prime, I'm not shopping/spending as much. Prime makes it very easy to spend money. Now, I ask myself if it is something we actually need or just compulsive spending because Prime makes it so easy.

I didn't use it, don't have a Kindle, and when I read the owner bought a secondary house for over 22 million I decided I wasn't going to support him.
If I order something online, I will wait, it will come, it's not like I need anything the same or next day.
I have really changed my spending habits and just analyzing everything, what I really need, want and would like.
Just taking a breather and prioritizing.
Anyone else? It doesn't have to be Amazon, could be anything else and maybe I missed something.
Currently, I'm on a shopping fast (mostly from QVC) until May to prioritze, etc..
I recently canceled my XM subscription too as I'm not in the car enough to justify it.
I use Prime a lot, so for that's it's worth it to me.
As far as a $22 million house, I will go to my grave not understanding why people care so much about who has what and how they spend their money.....

Nope, I love my Prime. I live in an area with limited shopping. I get my money's worth between price savings and convenience. I've had Prime since it became available where I lived, more than 7 years ago.

I'm an Amazon Prime member and I love it.
Shopping with them gives me more time for myself and my daughter. I can spend extra time working out and training my daughter, who is now into body building.
I have a hectic, crazy, stressful job. And it's usually not an 8 hour day. So I don't have time to run around in a store to look for stuff. So Amazon Prime works well for me.

Gosh ,I love Amazon Prime. Had it for many years. I just found Jet.com and I am loving that too.
It is funny because i live in a very populated area that has a LOT of shopping ,but i love my online shopping.
Guess it is good for old ladies ......lol

Just popping in to share how much I like Prime.
I've been using Subscribe & Save for over a year now. Those lovely scheduled deliveries are also shipped for free. I find bulk KIND bars, Lavazza espresso beans, Perrier sparkling mineral water, etc, pretty conveniently delivered straight to my door. You can save 15% if you opt to receive at least 5 different items.
Amazon has just started a rewards program if you opt out of 2 day shipping on certain items. I have a $5 credit (of Amazon's choosing) to the company just because I chose standard delivery on one item that arrived within 5 business days vs 2 days.
I pretty much get at least one Amazon package every day
. QVC would be wise to adopt some of Mr Besos' ways.
About his billions and how he spends them, it is none of my business. Whatever happened, however, that people cannot be genuinely happy for anothers' good fortune. Everyone is so darn "competitive" & "jealous" of people who have made a good life for themselves or inherited their fortunes. I, for one, am tired of the me, me, me syndrome, and being in a snit if someone has a leg up on you. ![]()

Aren't you the same poster who prefers not to buy cruelty free products from companies that still make animal tested products? I have the feeling you are prioritizing along the lines of your principles. Nothing wrong with that, but I draw the line at how and why people use the money they earn. This is America!

Love love Amazon Prime. Have been a member for years. It is soooo worth the fee. We make that up in free shipping and lower prices compared to other stores/online, so that is not a concern at all. Returns are not a problem. Amazon CS did better and treated me better then QVC CS did when I had a return. Varity, good prices, great CS, what is not to like?
