I have a feeling there are a whole lot of other discontent members out there too. I think Jeff Bezos and his team will have to come up with a plan to placate us.
Yeah, it certainly is annoying & that's why I wound up with such a mess of orders & cancellations around this special promotion today. Still trying to get it sorted out. I suppose one could cancel their existing membership, then sign on as a "new" Prime customer to get the deal today.
Same kwap with the Comcast. They offer cheap deals to new customers while those of us who've subscribed for years just keep getting our rates increased.
Just can't win!

I don't have a problem with them giving this to new members only. If I recall correctly, I was given a free trial membership for a time which was probably equivalent to this if you do the math, back then.

It's my understanding that this offer is for new members only, not current members.

As recently as yesterday, Amazon was saying that current members could indeed gift themselves, but this morning they have removed that option. I found all of this on a website that did *extensive* checking with Amazon in advance to be sure they were giving out correct info. But as of this morning, no-go for current Prime members. Probably because word got around and too many people were using that option. Sorry 😔
But gifting a new membership is still an option as far as I know.
OOPS!

OOPS!
Going from post to post just to post snark directed at me will not get you much, I'm afraid. I'll either ignore you or report you, depending upon your post.

@nomless I just edited my original post , It should have said "to new members" not "to to members"
