Hello Everyone and happy new year!

This is not a criticism or a complaint. I'm not trying to start anything. It's just always to funny to watch the way things are marketed. The difference from last month at this time to now is a different world. All things we watch on tv are about excercise. Everywhere we shop, the products are all about health and wellness, placed in prominent places so you can't miss them. One month ago there was every fat and unhealthy thing shoved at you in the same way. I understand last month was the holidays, it's just so crazy to watch.

I think it might be what the typical shopper is buying at a particular time of year.  The beginning of the new year is when most shoppers buy exercise equipment, so that's what they are selling.

I think for some people they are aware they over indulged during the holidays, and maybe put on extra weight and wish to address the issue, now that the holidays are over.

For some they have established new goals, in personal health and well being.  Let's also not forget the $$$$$ diet industry with huge marketing budget.
So, here we are..... with more of the same until Valentine's Day.  One can hope!

It shouldn't surprise anyone, this is what happens with all retailers after the  New Year, New You! campaign starts.

Exercise equipment/plans, diet plans, health and wellness products, etc.

The wheels on the retail bus go round and round, year after year.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I'm surprised we haven't seen a Nutrisystem TSV yet!

Never fear, all the diets, exercise equipment and other healthy stuff will be history by the end of next month.

It always happens - on January 2 Dan Marino is on TV with Nutrisystem! Meanwhile we're in the middle of "football" food here!  Smiley Wink

They had that on HSN a couple of days ago.

Kathy Levine was on with it for hours. I enjoyed seeing her again.

@beach-mom

"Football Food"?  Used to watch a lot of football, but backed off to only College Games after €£《¿¡● started. Never knew there was that food catrgory.

Now I have been around hockey games most of my life, going back to the 1940's. Never heard anything referred to as "hockey food". Most games they sell beer/popcorn and peanuts, but I thought most sports would have kinda the same menu.

At home I watch all my New York Rangers hockey games, but seldom call what I happen to choose to eat each game "hockey food".

You got my ole rusty wheels ah turnin. "Football Food"?

Hi @hckynutjohn ! DH is a football fan, both college and pro. He has been disgusted with pro in the past , and doesn't watch all the teams any longer, but he's never given up on college.

In our home "football food " might not be the healthiest! We have chili, chips and dips, fried chicken bites, bagel bites, pizza, etc. Although,  I will disagree with anyone who says pizza is bad for you! We usually don't sit in front of the TV with salad, but I wouldn't mind that!   Smiley Wink
