Last nite I was checking my mail. Got oneemail from facebook stating my account was suspended for not abiding by their standards or something.  It stated I could have them re-check this in case they made a mistake.  However to do so I had to get a text code, et al to begin the process.  I was really hissed off 'cause:

Just set  up this laptop approximately a week ago.  Because it's a chromebook I have gmail.  When I went to change my account on fb, it would not accept my new email and stated to set up new account, which I did!

The problem with this new account was that my old account info did not come over.  The new format didn't list friends, yet had a page I could put them on.  Only asked one friend to friend me on this new account, since I didn't know how she was set up on fb, but she couldn't do a friend request since we were already friends on my original account -- DUHWoman Frustrated!!!  As a result I haven't used it.  And, though I haven't used it, I got suspended for not following fb rules.  So I decided the #ell with facebook - don't need the aggrevation.:Woman Mad

Anyone else have such a thing occur with their fb account?

@eddyandme That would irritate me to no end! It's ridiculous. Things that are supposed to be simple & fun & they are aggravating.

Sorry @SeaMaiden , I didn't realize it was a common thing.  But, I did find it insulting!

@eddyandme  I found it irritating. I am amazed at what is on Facebook....what I was suspended for was like you... no big deal compared to what trash is published...Oh well.

Re: NO FACEBOOK FOR ME!

[ Edited ]

eddyandmee - I don't think you will be missing much by leaving Facebook.

I hadn't looked at my Facebook account for more than a week. They deactivated my account.

It seems less and less "friends" were posting on Facebook. So I rarely check it. And when I do, I only seem to see a post one time and then I can't find it again. My girlfriend became a Grandmother and when I went back looking for the post, I could not find it.

I get a lot of ads I don't care about. I click not to see it again. I don't care to see ads for Healthcare Insurance.I would never pick my Healthcare Insurance Company because of a Facebook ad.

It seems changes are going on at Facebook.

The only thing the OP will miss is a ton of telemarketing emails and phone calls.

If you read FB's privacy notice, they have the right to sell your info to everyone on the planet.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Facebook does NOT and never has and never will send people emails about not abiding rules or anything else.  That's ridiculous.  I have been suspended from Facebook more than once.  You only know when you try to post something and then you are advised about being in Facebook "prison".  If you tried to set up a new Facebook account on a new laptop, using the same identifying info, you can't do that.  It would appear to the Facebook algorithms that you are a hacker.  I don't know happened in your case but when you set up your new laptop, all you hD to do wax sign into Facebook with your password and the phone number you originally used.  Facebook does have  customer service but apparently it's a nightmare getting someone to call you back.  My sister had a login problem last summer, it took 2 weeks of calling a couple of times a day before Facebook customer service returned her call but they resolved the issue for her.

Left Facebook years ago and never looked back.  Don't miss it one bit and with all the privacy issues, or lack of, it's one thing off my radar I don't have to worry about.
