@pdlinda wrote:@spumoni99 I noted that the trial revealed the multi-million $$$ debt run up by Alex involving numerous criminal acts.
I also believe that his criminal defense team is owed MILLIONS of $$$$ for the defense they mounted for him over the last few years. Now his lawyers stated they would be handling his costly appeals for "as long as it takes."
Where's the $$$ coming from?? He's estranged from his family so I doubt they're helping him financially (especially now that he's been given a double-life sentence.")
How is he paying his lawyers??? Maybe they will sell off his numerous properties??? How is his surviving son, Buster, being provided for financially?
Questions I doubt we'll ever find answers to but I thought I'd ask
@pdlinda The house where the murders took place was sold or is on the market to be sold .

@SeaMaiden That makes sense. I would presume that the entire 1,400 acre parcel with all the structures on it are being offered for MILLIONS!
That would make sense regarding what his lawyers would be billing him AND take care of his $$$$ necessities while he spends the rest of his life in prison.
Life in prison (assuming the inmate wants as many "creature comforts" as are allowable) is not necessarily inexpensive. For example, if the inmate doesn't want to partake of the prison's food he would have to buy all his food from the commisary and that could run up quite a bill. In my State, there is a limit on how much $$$ a family/friend can place on an inmates books per month and I think that applies in all states.
There are also opportunities for inmates to buy supplemental "extras" like books and other educational/research materials and pay for them as they are purchased.

Interesting information about Buster. I never knew that part of his life story. Well, he will probably end up being a politician and run for President and get elected some day.

The word is that he was expelled from law school for plagiarism, and that his father paid 60 grand to get him back in. I'm not sure if he ever returned.
Wow, what a sweet smelling bunch those Murdaugh are.

The property is under agreement for 3.9 million dollars.

Probably not for those who clearly saw his guilt and clearly saw that he's a psychopath. But there are people who wanted to believe that he was innocent regardless of what the evidence showed.
Until a jury hands down their verdict, everyone can give their opinion, and speculate. Because others may have had a different opinion than you, does not mean they "wanted to believe he was innocent".
Our legal system says, I am paraphrasing: "innocent until proven guilty". What a person thinks/opines, or speculates, does not follow your line of professing.

@paixmcdao @MoJoV ...He has not returned back to law school as of yet due to the Court case...He is living with his girlfriend in her condo located in Hilton Head, SC...His friends have stated that he is not doing well and that he has gained weight, has bags under his eyes, has aged 10 years and has become what they described as "shut down"...not as outgoing or sociable as he once was and, more or less, closing himself off from most... Regardless of what we have heard of him, I can only imagine what he has been going through...dealing with the brutal murders of his mother and his brother and now his father convicted of their murders...his whole immediate family gone...I'm sure that Alex's brother, John, who testified, and the rest of the family will be of much support for him and look after him.

Thanks for the information. The 2015 death of Stephen Smith has been reopened, and it is reported that progress is being made. His mother and sister deserve answers, and hopefully, some justice.

Ridiculous. He was born a psychopath without a soul and without a sense of humanity and that's why he committed those the and atrocities. Shame, shame on people who are making excuses for him.
