Alex Murdaugh- Next Steps

[ Edited ]

"Alex Murdaugh spent the last 24 hrs in a cell, alone at the "Kirkland Correction Institution" in Columbia S.C 29210.    A Part of the "South Carolina Dept of Corrections" (Willie Davis, Warden)

Alex Murdaugh will spend abt 45 days here, undergoing:

  • Medical Tests
  • Mental Health Evaluations
  • Education Assessments

The results along with Murdaugh's Crimes & Sentence will determine which Maximum Prison he'll be assigned to spend out his remaining days.

Meanwhile Murdaugh's Defense Team is planning his Appeal.

The Judge handed down, (2) Life Sentences.

Investigations into other possible crimes move forward (at least 100+).

Murdaugh faces a slew of additional charges for Financial Crimes including "Fraud," "Money Laundering," & "Tax Evasion."

Murdaugh is not allowed any Visitors, for now, other than his Atty's, who are planning his Appeal.

He remains under "Evaluations," after which Alex Murdaugh will be sent to a different Maximum Security Prison where he'll begin serving out that term."  (ref:  MSNBC -  "Alex Witt Reports")

I wonder if there will need to be an emotional  'weaning' off of this case for some who followed it intently.  It occupied a lot the media's attention and provided hours of information for interested viewers.

Probably not for those who clearly saw his guilt and clearly saw that he's a psychopath.  But there are people who wanted to believe that he was innocent regardless of what the evidence showed.

@chrystaltree I so agree. And the deeper and darker the hole, the better.

He will find out that even hardened criminals don't take kindly to people who murder their own children. Hope he gets a taste of what that's  like.

Re: Alex Murdaugh- Next Steps

I think Alex will be very popular in prison because he's a lawyer and a good one it's claimed.  Inmates will look to him for help with their appeals, etc.  They will care more for their own cases than him killing his son.

He will trade legal advice for drugs!  I wonder if he has hidden money somewhere?

I read that the first thing they did (and do for all new prisoners, apparently) was to shave his head.

@spumoni99  His other Son who backed him 100% in his trial as being innocent I am sure knows where a lot of hidden money is.....

Re: Alex Murdaugh- Next Steps

I have to wonder if he will be in prison with some of the same people  he put there.
