I hardly ever "hand write" anything and use the computer for emails, letters and sometimes even sending birthday wishes. I started to write out my holiday cards yesterday and am shocked how difficult and unfortable it is to use a pen. You can barely read my writing on the first few cards. I don't write checks...either debit cards, charge or bills are drafted. When making a purchase, I just have to scribble something at the bottom of the ticket. Shameful!!! I think about my granddaughters. They may NEVER learn to write legibly. What a pity...a lost art.

I love to write by hand, but I'm a 'dinosaur'.

I can only write in small bits now, but it's still quite legible. My husband, OTOH - his handwriting is pretty much illegible. The only reason I can pick out what he writes is because I used to read prescriptions so that I could type out the labels (yup, we used a typewriter back then!). Not only did you need to learn the Latin but you had to learn to read illegible writing.
For me, it's pretty much just the arthritis. Weird I can type considerably more than I can write. I think part of that is the grasping of the pencil/pen that makes it so much more difficult. Grasping is not my strong suit anymore. That might be what is making it difficult for you now, too. ![]()
I also think it's sad that handwriting has gone by the wayside. Progress, right?

Gee, I write all the time. Lists, and more lists, lol. I keep lists of things in a steno book, always a running list of things we'll need at the store, menu ideas for a week, and things to do.
I also still write checks. I tried online some years ago and one bill to a department store kept getting messed up, their problem, and I decided to go back to checks and proof of payment from the bank.

I still write by hand but will admit, my writing is, nothing to write home about

I’ve never had good handwriting. I admire those who do. I made some cards recently on Shutterfly and included the message I wanted instead of handwriting it. My husband thought it would have be nicer for me to handwrite the message. Not with my handwriting. I was afraid I'd ruin the card.

I have pretty good handwriting. It depends on the pen. Lol
I was an excellent note taker in college so I learned to write fast and neat. My youngest daughter has terrible handwriting. She doesn't enjoy it at all.

I write all the time. Can't imagine NOT writing.
Even if it's just signing my name on a credit card receipt. But I'm always (hand)writing notes as reminders, lists.
But they do say, if you don't use it, you'll lose it. Keeping the fluidity of hand motion is the best thing for stiff joints.
Never will be a lost art on me.

My handwriting days are over except for checks, Xmas cards & gift tags.
I had pretty handwriting when young, but over the years having to always scribble things in a hurry at work, combined with arthritis, has reduced my handwriting to scrawly and ugly. Some days I have decent control and many days I don't.

Lists! How much do I love writing lists. Seriously.
I haven't written checks in some time, though, having changed to paying everything online. I like that so much better, not because of the lack of writing, but because I don't have to wait to make sure they got my payment and all that.
