He will get out, buy some quickie insurance for the judge and then cancel it or let it expire.
He had money for a car, gas and a phone but not for insurance.
Sad isn't it..............I wonder what the call was about that was so important....The poor homeowner will probably have to go through his own insurance and suffer whatever deductible he has....because the cell phone zombie probably has no money....
I am really hoping the judge imposes everything they possibly can on this person.
If I were a lawyer, I would take the home owner's case for free.

Not to mention the homeowner will have to use their own Insurance to get things repaired? What's wrong with this pic?
Put these people in jail by not doing so leads them to keep doing what they are doing.

Exactly. The home owner's insurance company knows this guy has nothing to go after. The home owner - doing the right thing by having insutance - will get stuck with all of it.
This jerk has no way to pay for anything.

Assuming the homeowner has insurance they will be out about one thousand for the deductible and risk the price of insurance increases because they made a claim.I don’t know how people get away with so much these days.My dh has been rear ended twice and both times the drivers had no insurance and were able to drive their vehicles away with just a fine.I thought driving with no insurance is illegal.

It is but as long as they have proof of insurance when they go to court, they are OK.
After that, they cancel it or let it expire.

No. The driver is going to get dinged for not having insurance. Either fined or ordered to serve time. It's not "fix-it" offense where you show up and say "I have it now" and the Court's let a person go upon their merry way.

Of course the driver is reckless and has a history of infractions.
@Sweetbay magnolia .... I agree with you .... it was definitely a cell phone incident 👎

@qbetzforreal If driving without insurance is illegal shouldn’t the car have been towed. The driver isn’t legal to drive away because they received a ticket ...I would think.

@dex- It depends on the officer and law enforcement jurisdiction. In LA, you're getting towed and quite possibly booked.
