AMAZON JUST ROBBED OUR COMPANY

Without going into too much detail, here is the situtation.  Our company sells products on Amazon, all day, every day.  There is something that we sold for $130.00.  The Amazon customer received the product, opened it all up, and took out select items that he wanted, and then returned the rest to us.  We took photos and reported the situation to Amazon.  What we got back is now worthless to us because it was opened.  Amazon refunded the customer anyway, thus robbing us of $130.00.

This has happened before to us, but always on a much smaller scale.  Sometimes Amazon sides with us, sometimes not.

This really burns me up.  All I want to say is that some people really s u c k.

@Puppy Lips   Well that really stinks..DH and I run a small business and that would hurt!  Is there no way to lay blame to the customer?  The customer is NOT always right.

@Puppy Lips.  Proving that the customer pilfered the parts would be impossible.  They could have been simply omitted so they had no choice.  I bet he'll never get away any some type of fraud again,  however.  They have his number.

I know this sort of thing really hurts small businesses.

@Puppy Lips

So sorry!!  So UNFAIR !!

Happened to me on ebay using my niece's account.  I had the original Ojon mist to sell.

Sold fast of course, buyer stole the contents and filled it w/ water ..claimed I even stole the pictures from another seller!

Pics were taken ON my kitchen table.  Sent ebay QVC receipt, sent them pics of my entire kitchen showing bottle was ON my placements....and that my bottles were filled w/ original true product.

Ebay sided w/ seller....we lost the sale AND had to pay to get back the bottles which we now discovered were filled w/ water, thus losing my OJON besides!  Double loss.

He lied a bad review on my niece.

We later discovered he pulled this scam on others....leaving reviews he got false product, every time.

Gosh, is there anyway you can appeal?

Re: AMAZON JUST ROBBED OUR COMPANY

I'm not sure if this is with certain products, but on some items that I'm returning, when I request for a refund, I get an email after it's returned to the designated place like UPS or Kohl's, etc., the email from Amazon will state "items should be returned in the same condition they were received in. For example, new items should be returned unused, new, and complete, and used items should not show any additional signs of use or damage.

The policy does state that a partial refund can happen if the item was not returned in original condition or beyond the original return window.

Re: AMAZON JUST ROBBED OUR COMPANY

The very reasons that buyers love Amazon sometimes hurt the 3rd party sellers.  It's a slippery slope for Amazon.

I have received products that had been tampered with and received a second shipment or a refund.  Amazon practically has no choice but to cater to customers as their own products (not 3rd party) depend on that level of customer service.

Having said that, I'd assume there's a certain amount of shrink acceptable when one sells through Amazon.  It's terrible that something like this happens, but a physical store risks shoplifting, I guess this is the online equivalent.

Re: AMAZON JUST ROBBED OUR COMPANY

In much of US culture now theft is fine if you can get by with it.  You deserve it, take it, why bother with the law is common.

Food pantries that used to be for the needy are now a gigantic business and food is there for the taking, no questions asked.  And every day truly needy people are robbed blind by the lazy and the criminals.

That's the way we roll now.  Take what you can snag, you deserve it.

Maybe I'm wrong but isn't there some kind of insurance for business losses?

Re: AMAZON JUST ROBBED OUR COMPANY

@Puppy Lips  I ordered an item from Amazon. It was supposed to come with a free gift. The item was in the order but not the free gift. I wanted to return the item, but I was not able to return the gift with it as I never received it. I called Amazon and they said return the item without the gift. So in the end the seller lost the gift item or maybe they never included it.

Re: AMAZON JUST ROBBED OUR COMPANY

We did report the guy.  But who knows if that does any good.  It does not restore our product to the original condition or give us our money back.

Amazon does not care about the third party sellers. They cater to the customers first and always.  As long as Amazon gets their money, and the FEES and percentages from third party sellers, they don't care.

We have our own website for some products, and it is extremely difficult to get any traction there.  Amazon is just too big of a beast.
