Avant garde foodies are always trying to get people to eat ants and grubs and things so I bet there are some funky restaurants out there with cicada preparations on the menu. Cheap and plentiful and sustainable at least, lol. It'd be sad if someone died because they didn't realize they could have a reaction.

 

I tried one bite of fried cricket once. It was crunchy but not delicious. Not high on my list of things to do again. I'll sit out on the cicada fritters.

One local meteorologist, Doug Kammerer, ate cicadas prepared in different presentations, including cicada chili dogs.

 

Yes, these insects are as large as they look in the footage.

Also a warning last week to not kiss your chickens 🐔due to salmonella.

While I try not to be judgemental, when I know someone is a devout chicken kisser, I tend to keep my distance.  Woman LOL
