Think of how many runs were stopped in pantyhose with clear fingernail polish.

When I had them, I kept a new paint brush to dust the pleated lamp shades.

I put glass jars or bottles, of skin care or cosmetics, in the bathroom sink when I am using theminstead of on the edge - on a damp paper towel or any damp cloth.  I seem to pay more attention to them because they are in an odd place.  They also won't slide around.   And if the they do accidentally get knocked over they are cushioned and less likely to break.

I use a metal crochet hook to remove the blade from a bread machine loaf.  I think I chose a Size "J" from my collection of hooks, but I can't recall.  I wish I could remember how I learned of this tip, to give proper credit. Works like a charm.  So far, the metal hook has not hamed the blade, whatsoever.  Whereas, when I used to use metal kitchen tongs, I scratched the blade of an old machine.  I should have known better, but live and learn.  I go so far as to keep this hook in a mug on a kitchen shelf, for convenient access.

Re: A product used in a unintended way

I think I posted this idea somewhere else, years ago.  Anyway, for years I have been making my own foot powder by using an empty plastic spice container (black pepper):  Fill the empty spice container with baking soda and cornstarch.  Shake it up.  Then drop a couple of drops of Peppermint extract.  Shake some more.  It really works.  I don't measure; I just put a bit of each in the container, and judge how much more of each that feels/looks 'right' to me.  Then after shaking, I add the peppermint extract.   It really is an inexpensive way to have foot powder and to have fresh smelling shoes (and socks, too!)

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I could not get our shower clean for love or money until I tried no fume Esy off oven cleaner.  I sprayed it on...left it for about an hour and it cleaned right away.  My husband has apt. Buildings...I found the same method worked cleaning up after tenants move out...a chore I really dislike but it sure has made it easier.
