A curious shipment (received by a friend)

[ Edited ]

Ok, this did not happen to me, but I'm still laughing about it so I thought I'd share.  My friend called me this morning to relate her story:  She's an avid QVC shopper and was waiting for a delivery of a Lug bag that she recently ordered.  The package arrived yesterday and was quite heavy.  When she opened it, it contained a large supply of diapers and baby wipes!!!!!!!!!  And this, again, was supposedly a QVC shipment!  When she called C/S, they are sending her another of the Lug bag, but she is required to return the diapers and baby wipes to QVC!!!!!!!!!  I'm just shaking my head!  Whatever are they going to do with them on the receiving dock????  (By the way, she's a senior citizen and has no need for the stuff!).

Re: A curious shipment (received by a friend)

Since Q does not sell either product if the items came in a QVC box either Q's warehouse also ships for another entity or someone recycled a Q box.

In either event your friend should not have to return the items to Q.

Did she carefully check the shipping label for an indication of who the true seller/shipper might be?

@MarpAll the paperwork was correct for the Lug bag she was expecting.  Weird!  Still can't believe they are making her return the stuff!!!!

@Krimpette, that is really curious.  In an attempt to satisfy that curiosity I would would ask a mod about it.

I just did repeat searchs for diapers and baby wipes with no relevant returns to the search terms.

@Marp Good thought.  I'll mention it to my friend to try that.  Not sure if she does the forums regularly.  Thanks!

I once ordered 2 pairs of shoes from Macys.  Two boxes arrived---one normal size for a pair of shoes with receipt for that pair.  When I opened the second larger box, it contained the other pair of shoes I had ordered along with its receipt.  Also in the box were 2 pairs of children's shoes (new in boxes) without a receipt.  I called Macys and they had no explanation and didn't know what to tell me.  I dropped the 2 boxes in the St. Vincent de Paul donation box.

That is just bizarre.  I bet that was an interesting conversation with Q's CS representative.

are they asking her to pay for return? I would think a picture would suffice.

@Marp

It seems odd to me too that they'd make her return it, unless they are trying to trace it to see what happened since its not a product they sell....  But on mixups like that I've had other companies tell me to keep it as a gift, or donate it to a charity.....

Re: A curious shipment (received by a friend)

What's worse is that it's a heavy package.  The C/S person told her to tape it up and put it outside for the postman to pick it up.  (She is (allegedly) marking my friend's account so that she doesn't have to pay for the return postage!!!!!!!!!
