Re: A couple Facebook questions

not sure why you are getting emails from fb?

i get NO emails from fb or messenger.

unfollowing and blocking.......they MAY eventually find out if you have done that if they try to look at your fb page or send you a message.

snoozing or muting.....generally a better option (unless you dont care) and they will still be able to see your fb page or message you if needed.

You can check "unfollow " on face book , and you will still be friends but not see all their posts unless you click on their page .  They will not know about it . I did this with a lot of people that I worked with in the past , didn't want all their stuff in my face , but didn't want to unfriend them either .

I have NEVER received any E-mails from Facebook for anything.  Maybe check your settings as to how you get notified of things.  Just click on your profile pic in the top bar and a drop-down box has Account and Settings option.

Exactly.

If you're getting unwanted emails from Facebook, it's because you have them turned on in your settings. You don't have to block, unfriend, or unfollow people to stop them. You might want to explore all of your settings. Something else might be on that you'd rather have off.

actually, they CAN find out if they wanted to.....

if they go to their followers list and dont find the name of their friend on the list on facebook, then they will know that that person no longer follows their posts.

@Caffeina  what i understood from @Mindy D   Post is that she is receiving emails from people who are not her friends. Don't know how that's possible. These emails she said are from Friends of her Friends. Maybe I'm wrong.

It could be comments that pop over on her Page from her real FB Friends from people who are not her Friends but Friends of her Friend. Confused? I think I am lol.

Re: A couple Facebook questions

I get a few emails but it's ok because that email address is only for FB.

I get a lot of Notifications there though. Even things I don't know to know.

Re: A couple Facebook questions

Check your notification settings, too loose and the notifications can be sent to your email address.

You can also unfollow friends or you can block them.  If you block them, you can't see them at all and they can't see you.

@qbetzforreal  I don't think I've blocked anyone but I have unfollowered a lot. It only takes one time for me to make that decision.

Re: A couple Facebook questions

@Sage04 @The friends of friends have somehow become my friends and I get emails about them. I don't want to insult them or hurt them. I'm really not sure how this happened. They all have mutual friends with me. Can they see it if I block them? I'd rather just delete the emails then hurt them. Some of them are continually traveling the world, so I get emails to see every hotel they are in and every attraction they visit.

Then there are the deep sea fishing emails. Every saltwater fish that anyone has caught, I get an email to open from the fisherman. True, some are our friends, but some are friends of our friends. Usually, they are posting from the same boat. I also don't want to hurt or insult the boat owner as he is a friend of ours.
