To me it is like grandparents having children. I agree with those that said just because you can, doesnt mean you should!!

Do you even realise that she will not even live long enough to see this child grow up............... She will be 82 and he will be 90 when the child is only 10! What kind of life will the child have with such old people for parents. They will not be able to keep up with the child. Especially twins!
Think about it.....especially in that poor counrty ..... Poor child!

I just read another article and it said the husband is a farmer. Husband said the other villagers "looked at her with accusing eyes" and said she was cursed because of no kids.
After 40+ years of being looked at you finally had enough?
As in my original post her body, her choice. I'm glad the little girls are healthy, but I still can't fathom doing it.

wow! Can’t imagine! Just because scientists have the capability to do something, doesn’t mean they should.

I am not great at math , but the talk of 40 even 50 year olds having babies (usually a suprise) would make the child 33/23 when the mother was 73. These ages are considered adults. If motherhood starts out at 73 by the time a chlld would reach those ages the mother would be 106/96! good luck with that.
While most of us do not have an experation date stamped anywhere at 73 we do know our limitations. We may still buy green bananas but....

The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, US Today and Washington Post are reporting that Mangayamma is 74 based on her birth certificate, several other news outlets have reported that she is 73.

Frankly, if the egg was donated, why not just use a surrogate? Why put the woman through the whole pregnancy ordeal?
However, I still think it will end up being an unfortunate situation for the kids.

But why now?
They had all those years to have children.
