I read James Patterson when he first started to write, and I enjoyed his books. Eventually I tired of them as. He was writing so many, then he started to write with others. Now I think he's gone over the edge,I believe he will writ with anyone. His newest book coming is writing with Dolly Parton! Now, I have nothing against her or her music, but really! I think Patterson would write with anyone just to make a buck, which he really probably doesn't need He has no shame 😱

Maybe they were friends. Maybe they admired each other's work and were thrilled to get together. Maybe they shared the same agent (common).

Today collaborations happen all the time. Nothing to  be ashamed of.

Maybe he is working on a mystery in "Dollywood"....maybe he wanted the challenge of working with DP.  I am a bit curious to see if it works.

I have gotten tired of James Patterson also.  Most of his books now are written by/with others and way too many.

However I am lookng forward to his book with Dolly Parton.  I am sure she will add interest to the story and after all, she is a songwriter - she can write.

I read a couple of his books however I haven't done much book reading of late, just mostly articles. But I can't fault anyone who does something for a long time and then decides to change things up or go in a different direction.

I used to read most of his books.  Then, he started co-writing, or whatever you call it, with all kinds of people, and then that kind of turned me off and I quit reading his stuff.  However, I did just post a topic about Dolly's new song, book and her upcoming book with him, and I will be reading that one!  Only because I love her!

Not sure about this. I'm turned off on James Patterson, and even if it  the new book has Dolly Parton's name, I'm not convinced it will be that good.

I'm sure it will have a waiting list, so if I change my mind it will be awhile before I read it. Don't plan to buy it, as the price will be too high.

He is a writer, so he has the ability to tell a story. Maybe he ran out of stories?

So he collabarates with someone that has a story but isn't a writer.

If the story is good & he know how to write the book it seems like a great thing.

I am still a fan of some of his series books and a few of his stand alone books as well.

When it comes to JP I pick and choose what I wish to read.

Dolly Parton is a storyteller . So why should a writer be ashamed to team up with another storyteller?

Besides which, it is Patterson's job to write. It's how he makes his living.

It's part of his job description to be creative.

The book is out in March.
