Re: Books: Magazines, to be specific.

Your choices are great and I do remember seeing some of those. I may need to go back and check them out. Thanks for the reminders. @AngelPuppy1

@qualitygal

Another good one is Saturday Evening Post.  I used to get Architectural Digest because I love old stuff, but found there in a lot of issues they had a great deal that did not interest me or was too intricate for me.

The keep saying that magazines are a thing of the past.  I sure hope not!  I just can't warm to the idea of cozying up and looking at them on-line!!!

Re: Books: Magazines, to be specific.

I must have subscribed to Prevention for about 20 years.  Then last year I finally realized the articles seemed to be repeats on a yearly basis (somewhat updated, of course).  I canceled it and found I didn't really miss it.  For a year I was getting Good Housekeeping, Better Homes and Gardens and Woman's Day and I've now canceled those as well.  I guess I just don't enjoy magazines much anymore.  I still get Entertainment Weekly and Southern Living.

Mr Smoky gets Reminisce and he loves it.

Re: Books: Magazines, to be specific.

I've subscribed to Sunset Magazine (western states regional mag) for forty-three years.  Now that's scary.

i just subscribed to the HGTV magazine and BH&G because the rates were so low.

I pick up an issue of Real Simple occasionally.  I used to have so many magazine subscriptions, several of which went belly up.

Re: Books: Magazines, to be specific.

I've been subscribing to New York Magazine for at least 20 years. I love the articles, the stories, the ads and the crossword puzzle.

I also get Real Simple which I love, as well as Vanity Fair, both of which I've gotten for years.

Then there's an assortment of the weekly junk magazines I still enjoy reading, like Star, Us, and Entertainment Weekly, as well as Better Homes & Gardens, More, Good Housekeeping, etc etc etc.

Some of the magazines were free offers from American Express, plus many of the magazines were $5 for a year's subscription. You really can't go wrong with that.

I love my magazines! Heart

I didn't even realize Reader's Digest was still published. Didn't they used to sell it at the grocery store?

I remember my grandmother making some sort of paper angels with these magazines by folding the pages, spraying them with spray paint and attached a decorated syrofoam head. Memories....

My mother made a rabbit once.  It was a Girl Scouts project (she was a leader).

We also used to make ornaments out of last year's christmas cards using pinking shears and staples.
